The theories are quite interesing. Some are finally starting to understand that plot and some are on the other side of the door, so to speak.

It is interesting reading all the commentary. The theories are on the track to not even close to the plot. It is helpful to read the book first, as it will give you better insight . I am glad to see that some of theories are similar to each other. When watching, don't just look at the big picture. Look at the details, the subtle hints, and the not so obvious clues. By the way, I am friends with Dr. Pat and read the copy he gave me in Thailand over the summer. Happy clue hunting everyone!!

I had the privilege of watching my son's movie with him in his home. I sat quietly riveted to the screen watching all the small, but very important details come to life. I was fortunate to meet the actors beforehand and what an amazing group of talented young men. I am so proud of my child and his accomplishments as a director and a writer. Most of all, this beautiful soul chose me as his Khun Mae and for that I am eternally blessed by Buddha. Mae Rak Na!!

Can you give me the link of the novel? And some spoilers?
Dr. Pat gave me an actual copy of the book while I was in Thailand. I promised him that I will not reveal anything from the book before it airs. I cannot betray his trust and lose his friendship. I hope you understand.

I was crying while reading your post. I saw a near one go through such pain and this alone changed my views forever.
Emara, may you never have to watch this type of suffering. My hope for you is that you live a long and healthy life full of amazing experiences.

DISCLAIMER: This strictly my opinion based on my 32 years spent working in the medical field. I saw every type of patient from ER to ICU, including the NICU. Euthanasia is a sore subject for many to contemplate, let alone agree with. Having grown up around the military, law enforcement, and medical fields certainly shaped my perspective on when to save a life and when to let go. In this story, Dr. Kan saw the suffering of his patients and knew they wanted to end their lives. Kudos to the writer of the story, this person did their research on the subject. It is never an easy decision for the patient, caregivers, or families to let go. It comes down understanding that the patient no longer has quality of life, and at this point quantity does not matter. In general, most family members are not ready to let their loved one pass. Many see it as selfish on the patient's part, but they do not understand the excruciating pain the patient is in. To put into perspective what that pain feels like: Take the worst pain you have felt, then magnify that by 1000 times. It is so unbearable that is makes you lose your mind; you will do anything to make it stop just for some momentary relief. What Dr. Kan was spot on about was Tew not understanding what the patient is going through is so accurate. Again, most humans have never felt that type of pain, nor do they comprehend the magnitude of it. I watched time and time again, patients literally begging someone to put them out of their misery.

I also speak from personal experience; my dad had a living will and did not want to be kept alive by machines. When he had a third massive heart attack, the ER Physician stated that we needed to do what he wanted and not keep him alive because my family was not ready. My mother turned to me and said, "Make the decision." and I replied, "No, we are all going to make the decision, so I do not get blamed for murdering him in your eyes." Thankfully, the ER Doctor agreed and made everyone answer the question of making my dad a DNR and recorded it. I still bless that Doctor every day for allowing my dad to go peacefully. The reality of it is that families are never ready when a family lingers or is on life support. They maintain the hope that the patient will get better, and in some cases, there are miracles.

I loved this story as it was well written, amazingly portrayed, and hopefully it gives insight to those who maybe struggling with a similar decision in their own lives. My thought is that ending was left open for a sequel. This does not feel like it is finished for the characters or the viewers.

All of the actors involved were phenomenal!!! Let's see if my prediction for a 2nd series comes to fruition.

Peace and joy to everyone for the new year!!
