Wow... that's wonderful! So happy for you and your parents to have that experience. My parents were constantly fighting during the 30 years, so they're better off not being together, IMO. My dad remarried and has a new family, so I'm very very happy for him. Was it hard to me to get adjusted to the idea of divorce - yes, at first, because as a child I was told that the American way is not good, because they're not family oriented, parents easily divornce, nothing long term, Asian values better... and look what happened? So, I would prepare young people to best be flexible, anything can happen. Most importantly, be healthy and whole and don't depend on the other person to make you happy... you need to be happy for yourself.

I'm sure it can happen (childhood sweethearts married for life), but it's more idealistic vs reality.. My parents were married for 30 years and then divorced when they were older, so, in the journey of life, you may not stay together till the end even if you've been married for a long time. Since, it's fantasty, I like to dream that anything is possible. Sure, would I have preferred XY to be with with XL, yes.. but this is Tong Hua's world and I will respect her story, her characters... so if XL is meant to be who he is... Oh, well, so be it... Tong Hua's characterization of XL is pure love and poetry that I can't really have it any other way, but to appreciate her art and this character she created.

Their relationship is twisted, abnormal, so bizarre... aye so true. 😂 that's what makes their dynamic so interesting, and entertaining, for me... This is a fantasy story, not day to day real life, and so their relationship gives me the opportunity to delight my fancy 😸

I feel like their love for each other is like crushes/crushing someone... you don't reveal, its hidden deep inside (in the subconscious).. no one but you know... and sometimes you don't even know you like the other person... you just do things for the other person or think about the other person unprompted and you like spending time with the other person...

I wonder why she doesn't get mad at XL... is it b/c she's somewhat intimidated by XL vs Jing. Or perhaps, she feels closer/more intimate with Jing and is more comfortable expressing her dislikes with him vs XL?

😯 this bug thingy is indeed abstruse. I think it's about time for Jing to take on the love bug... just wish XL could transfer it to Jing so he doesn't have to suffer from it anymore and since his girl is with Jing now. Furthermore, if Xuan had a taste of the bug and suffered and same for XL, it really is about time for Jing to experience the love bug too since he'll do anything for his lady love😁

It's not that XL doesn't have the guts to pursue XY, he just won't prioritze XY over his Chengrong army. So, in a way, the army is more important, so much so, that he is willing to walk away from XY. These are just my thoughts... looking forward to others' opinions. Hence, Jing willing to prioritze XY is the best candidate.

Well said. I like that this drama offers something for everyone... we're all different and have our own preferences that are served by the various characters within this drama.

my favorite male lead is XL because I find him interesting and the actor portraying him is really doing a great job in bringing to life this character. When I started watching dramas a long time ago, I liked good, kind wholesome, selfless handsome boys.. but after many many many dramas replicating the same types of characters and storylines, i personally got tired, bored and shifted to more complex, grey, and deep characters (though not evil) that make you question who they are and thus leave a deep impression. Many years after this drama airs, I may forget the other characters, but I will always remember XL.

Wow, you are so talented... makes me want to jump on the XY-Xuan ship. this will be my second most memorable couple from this drama given the impact it will have on me... for me, it's not about flowers and rainbows but the intensity of emotion and journey of the characters that leave on an impression on me....
