In my case, after I noticed the hype & love for this show when it was airing, I was surprised because I didn't think it was as fascinating as the majority were saying. I simply took a back seat and decided to share my thoughts after I completed the drama (as I might change my mind later). Unfortunately, the end wasn't even satisfying so I basically wasted my time. Which made me write my review.
Anyways, glad you enjoyed the drama but don't feel disappointed if others didn't.
I agree that the most disappointing point is the mother's stubborn and almost heartless character. War/distance must have played a huge part in making her lose her emotions and the ability to show affection to her daughter. However, she seems incapable of seeing any positive qualities in her daughter, like a prejudiced hater.
The first 3 episodes were intentionally slow-paced and focused on introducing the main characters and setting the tone of the story. After the 4th episode you'll find it difficult to stop. This drama will take you through waves of emotions and it's worth every second you spend on it. There are characters that you'll dislike and others that you'll relate to / understand / love or feel sorry for. Still reading? Watch it!
