the first half was great but became pretty formulaic and boring in the second.

His best work is probably Secret Love Affair but it has the infidelity theme so some people don't even try. I would recommend being open minded though. It has an amazing cast and OST. Movie level visuals. Some of the scenes have the highest amount of chemistry I have seen in kdrama. It's probably the most mature of these three. Love the female lead. Shes such a good actress and her character arc is interesting.

Something in the Rain is probably his most popular work. Again amazing chemistry and cinematography. The second half of the drama falls off a bit though.

One Spring Night is probably his most consistent work. Nothing really special about it imo but its nice to look at and the characters have good chemistry.

Agreed. Feels like the chemistry isnt on the same level as in something in the rain or one spring night not to even mention the absolute peak Secret Love Affair. These kind of slow shows pretty much live and die by their characters and while I enjoyed the episodes they felt weak compared to the rest of his work.

Ahn Pan Seok is the best director in kdrama . He just puts in the extra effort that other directors dont do.

Watched it because the female lead was amazing in burning(2018). shes so cute in this.
