Also liked that their answer to censorship was, "We're cutting as much of the scene that doesn't pass the censors and no more," instead of reshooting the scene and trying to make it flow. Because of this, the viewer is aware of exactly what is missing. That directorial choice felt like a political statement.

I thought it was so funny when an American country music (straight!) song started playing during the confession scene.😂 That said, it was actually kind of good haha

This could have been an interesting story if it had a more developed plot, no censorship to contend with, and possibly a better actor for Lu Lin (sorry to that guy; he was trying). As it was, I still enjoyed it and thought it was cute! I really appreciate them for trying to get a gay romance past Chinese censorship.

Thank you as well! I didn't mean to imply your list had any shortcomings for just being about BL actors - I like it and think it's definitely more manageable to break down by industry. And yes, including sources took hours and was way too much work! I did research everyone in your list and there were a few I couldn't find any quotes for about being gay, so I didn't include them. (This wasn't helped by me not speaking their language. 😞) But that's not to say I think you were wrong about anyone - just looking at the Instagrams of the men I left out was very *fruity,* like, I'm SURE these men are queer! But I couldn't find them actually talking about it. So I followed my self-made rule and left them off for now.

Also thank you for including Cheng Chang Fan on this list - I wouldn't have heard of him without you! I really enjoyed reading his coming out post and then watching his drama after seeing him on here. 🙂

No, I'm not on Viki much (too poor lol). You have commented on a few of my lists on here, but they weren't about polyamory. I have yet to watch anything polyam on this site so I'm excited about your other list! And tbh idk if I'm going to watch Eternal Summer - I haven't added it to any of my watch lists because of the previous reason I listed and also I think it has a sad ending? But I keep thinking about it anyway ahhh so idk.

Lol I have one of these lists too with NOTES about the textual support, but it's private because I didn't think the current climate of MDL would get where I was coming from and I always worry about haters. Also somehow our lists don't intersect at all, but I haven't watched a lot of the titles on yours. I've definitely been eyeing Eternal Summer but even the summary gives me major "should be polyamory" vibes and I'm just sooo tired of love triangles and no polyamorous resolutions. (Yes I am checking out your polyam list next!) Anyway glad to see this list!
