yeah but it's not just the haters, there is a little bit of woobification here and there for both Kiyoi and Hira

yeah it's the little things, like the fact that despite making Hira errand-boy, Kiyoi didn't force Hira to take his picture with the fancy camera for the competition even tho he needed a photographer.
we know Hira wouldn't say no but since he didn't offer, Kiyoi didn't push it.

I appreciate the subtle approach of this drama, I don't like being spoon-fed.

I didn't mean he knew as it was happening but the info later came out and he kept being in denial the way parents are when their "baby" gets accused of something. If Shiori really confronted him and he still couldn't admit it and offer a measly apology because he is too wrapped in his own victimhood of losing a child then he is on his own. Not saying murder is what he deserves but I'm not shedding a tear for him either.

in English, words like "gross" or "disgusting" is a really harsh way to describe someone, "kimoi" (kimochi warui) could have easily been translated to "creepy"
it depends on the context and creepy certainly fits Hira's behaviour better (watching Kiyoi sleep, following him around, taking his photo)

those soft scenes between Rio and Kase-san made me think of the first time I ever watched Yuriko and Arata was when they costarred in Snakes & Earrings🙃 man that was a trip, their relationship here and there is like night and day

Kimoi could be translated into gross nasty disgusting or creepy. Basically its an adjective for someone or something that gives you a ~bad feeling~
