Anyone know how long the time jump was in ep 4? It all of a sudden said it was 2016, and obviously at least a few years had passed, but I don't remember anywhere at the beginning of the show where it showed the date of a previous year?
The funny thing is I never thought of Kim Soo Hyun as anything but the male lead? So I didn't get to experience that feeling of shock when she ended up with him. That's who I saw as the OTP the whole way through. Love that drama!
TL;DR: For me it was a happy ending. I don't think things were unresolved. The "open ending" leaves…
I was debating on writing something similar, as I don't feel like the ending was unresolved at all..and had wondered why people were thinking that, but then I read your post. I, too, felt complete closure. Obviously, we could always want a little more from most drama endings, but I really liked this drama from beginning to very end. Anyway, thanks for saying all that so I didn't have to! haha.
Seo Kang joon always surprises me in dramas. He was so shy on roommate and his characters in dramas are always…
Right?! I am always surprised to see him in Cheese...as it's totally opposite than how he is IRL, assuming that he was being true to who he is in Roommates. :)
This drama is just painful to watch. The only reason I'm going to finish it is because it's on my challenge for…
I don't mind at all! :) I should say that I don't particularly like the male lead in this to begin with, though not enough to not want to watch his dramas. But he annoys me a bit. I can't quite put my finger on it. So there is that bias. In the drama I find him whiny and annoying. Apart from that, however, I find the villain has no depth. I really liked this guy when he was the villain in The Girl Who Sees Scents....but not here so much. He's just evil for no other reason than evil, and it's not very satisfying. One of the most annoying things is the whole "the more you remember the faster you'll decline" or whatever. This is like the most ridiculous thing ever. Maybe it wouldn't bother me so much if I loved the drama, but seriously, every single thing we do is based off of memories. Me typing now is remembering how to do so. Me making this commentary is remembering the show. So, basically, it's dumb. I understand he is a special case because he has a super memory or whatever, but it still makes me roll my eyes. Also, the female lead barely had a part in the show in the first half. She was just kind of there to take up some space. Now that she's in it more she's not bringing much to the story in my opinion, except someone to love him, to make it even sadder that he is losing his memory. There's just something missing for me, and I'm sorry I can't explain it better. However, I will say that I love the attorney guy. I look forward to whenever he comes on. He's basically the only thing keeping me going. He has depth and a bit of mystery. I like his character a lot.
I am seriously pissed that everyone has ganged up on Bang Won! He saved their lives!!! Someone needs to show Bang Won some appreciation....besides his wife.
I think I now I understand why YJ did and is doing what he's doing to Seol. In ep 9 & 10 he was the one who planned…
I enjoyed reading your thoughts thus far and decided to answer your questions with my own. :)
I actually think that YJ did the whole powerpoint thing to get min soo in trouble, no other motivation than that it upsets him on Seol's behalf that Min Soo is obsessed with her.
As for the texts....when he originally wrote those texts he did smirk. However, in episode 9 he discovered the ADDITIONAL texts that In Ha had sent to the guy that were excessive and far worse than the two that he sent himself. He was upset because he didn't know that she had sent those text and that now Seol thinks he sent all those texts because he said he did text the stalker guy, not realizing that In Ha had actually sent so many more.
I don't think YJ was calm at all when he watched those videos. I think they upset him quite a lot and definitely think he has something up his sleeve in how to handle the stalker dude. He doesn't generally express his emotions and keeps them subdued. But I definitely think that he is upset by those videos without a doubt.
And then as far as your last paragraph. I can understand where you are coming from. My perspective on the matter though is that Seol is very upset that something that YJ did, from her point of view maliciously, has caused this stalker dude to be this way in her life. This compounded with all the other weird stuff that has occured because of/around YJ does trouble her. Originally when she had asked YJ about it he even lied to her and said he had nothing to do with it, etc. So, I think that she is justifiably upset. I like Seol because she likes to think things out and reason them out in her head. She doesn't generally do anything without really considering it first. She wants a break from YJ so that she can try to understand him better, and likely to find the time to forgive him. I think she struggles because she likes him so much but isn't sure that he's actually a good guy to like. Her "how could he pretend that he doesn't know me" actually made me giggle a bit, because that's just like a girl! I can totally see her ignoring him but getting upset when he ignores her....I think I've BTDT.
I was definitely interested to read your thoughts on the drama thus far and your comments at the end regarding the friendships....I hadn't considered that! Hope you don't mind me answering your questions from my own perspective. I always find it interesting how two people can watch the same exact thing but get two totally different things from it! :)
Dramas wouldn't be dramas with out all the cliches and drama tropes. Whether the drama is good or not depends on how well they use it. :) Thanks for the article!
I'm curious is the drama has twists, melodrama or a sad ending ?
I totally think it is. Not only do you get a great comedy/romance by the Hong Sisters, but you get a classic drama that everyone should have on their watched list AND Wookie! :)
I hated the main actress's character, I don't understand why anyone would like her. It was really frustrating…
I can definitely see how you could take that away from it. However, I personally, didn't see SIG's character that way. In fact I saw him as a bit of an odd duck too. But I know what you mean for sure. :)

My very first drama was Lie to Me....which is definitely a drama I can watch over and over again for no other reason than nostalgia. :)
