kdramas this year have really been a hit or miss. but this drama is exactly what i’ve been missing from kdramas this year !!!. the plot is so engaging and there’s no unnecessary plot holes and unnecessary scenes for no reason. everything comes together and makes u feel engaged and entertained. this is one of the best dramas this year it’s a MUST WATCHHH.

omg i started this show a couple days ago im on like ep 6 i think and idk if i should continue the comments are really making me not want to 😭 plus im not really feeling the romance between the old emperor and the young girl it’s literally weird idk im just not feeling a connection lmk if im missing out

yeah i think so too im going to continue watching and see where it goes

i’m on ep 4 and i’m contemplating on dropping this the fighting scenes are actually really cringe and i also find that this pairing barley has any chemistry 😅 soo idk if i want to continue the storyline also lacks depth and the flashbacks i mean they’re useful for the storyline obviously but i just don’t really care for them someone lmk if it gets better

i’m halfway done with this drama and one thing i will say is that ruyi dumbest mistake was making yanwan an enemy of hers. just because she chose to betray her childhood lover who couldn’t even help her while she was being abused for 5 years straight i mean like what did she expect her to do ?? accept him back with open arms??. not to mention hailan was literally the main reason why ruyi didn’t end up helping yanwan because they assumed she had a ulterior motive when all she wanted was to work in a better place. thats what i think for now but my opinion might change. also hailan was very contradicting when she was giving yanwan side eyes for trying to get with the emperor like she didn’t seduce the emperor aswell to help ruyi while she was in the cold place so why hate on yanwan when she seduced the emperor for a better life ??

i just started watching this yesterday and why does the director keep zooming into the most stupidest scenes ever?? like it would literally be the most randomest scenes ever and he would zoom into it also i felt like the chemistry was good for this drama i just felt like there’s too much unnecessary scenes and i didn’t feel a spark from this drama so i dropped it lmk if im missing out

yeah i can agree with your take i still don’t think that they should’ve drawn out her forgiving him into so many episodes though it should’ve only been like 2-3 episodes of him regaining her trust back they drew it out too much to where u don’t even feel satisfied that they actually got back together

i just finished this drama and overall i liked it but there’s just a few things i would like to say that bothered me. first of all i was so unsatisfied by how little the relationship developed between the emperor and empress went the writer could’ve developed their relationship better the potential was there for their relationship to be way better written. also this drama was wayy too draggy from the FL taking a century to forgive the ML after all he did was lie to her that he was her husband and used her to get his arch nemesis.but he still kept her virtue intact and he never slept with her while she didn’t have her memories in fact he always avoided it because she meant that much to him. also the ML shouldn’t have been stabbed by the FL that was just wayy too much it’s not like he killied someone related to her. also there was soo many characters that shouldn’t have been casted why was the aunt and cousin even casted ?? they brought nothing to the show honestly. also the villains were so undeveloped and there was just so many plot holes which i hated. but nevertheless the chemistry between the ML and FL was amazing also the chemistry between the empress and emperor was really good even with the baldy developed romance.also i loved the last fight scene between the ML AND FL overall this drama is a solid 8 very fun in the beginning but draggy towards the ending.

lmao i’ve watched multiple thriller dramas for years it’s my second favorite genre. this drama just wasn’t well written in MY opinion but this could be the best drama ever to someone else it just didn’t give me that WOW factor i was looking for that it gave in the trailer.

honestly i’ve been trying to watch this drama for three days now and i still can’t finish it 😭 like it’s soo bad and boring it’s literally ridiculous how dumb the plot is i will be dropping sorry

i just finished this show and all i can say is wow like literally, the show was really well executed a couple things i will say is that the ML is actually really dumb like hello???. if he didn’t take the test for his brother his brother would’ve still ended up failing anyways and his life would’ve still been ruined regardless. but he chose to take the test ruin the test and then ended up ruining his life instead that just made no sense to me i literally couldn’t even sympathize with him that was literally the dumbest action ever. also the only person i felt bad for was that rich man’s daughter she was the only victim here she just wanted to be with her broke boyfriend. too bad her father was too much of a sexist control freak.

this is such a snooze fest i can’t even get through ep 2 i’ve tried multiple times to get into this drama

I still feel like validation was needed he claims that she’s the only woman he ever loved and that he holds her to such high standards.but instead of actually showing her that he ended up having a one night stand with her.( which don’t get me wrong they both consented to it) but the ML in my opinion didn’t like her enough to confess his feelings first then become intimate later.then he ended up pursing her more later to make her feel validated, which is the main reason why they broke up because she wasn’t sure of his feelings for her, the ML overall has a lot of red flags that was just like eeek but that’s just my opinion i’ve dropped it because it’s not the drama for me.

i’m on ep 23 of this drama and so far i feel irritated with the ML. how does he claim he has these strong feelings for the female lead but he slept with her without expressing how he felt??. that’s literally a red flag then he’s sad that she left and went to her hometown after he literally slept with her before confessing his feelings like he should’ve did from the beginning. like huhhh??? this drama is slowly irritating me i might drop it.🫠

am i the only one who can’t stand CX ?? like omg all he does is complain about not having a choice in anything in his life. like he wasn’t the one who chose to become king to protect XY then he’s so toxic and always trying to control her actions he’s just a overall greedy person you can’t be king and also have the woman u love that’s not how that works. i think that’s also why i love XL a lot too because he always has XY best interests at heart even if her choice isn’t him he always does everything to make her happy even though he abused her multiple times to push her away you could always tell that he did it so that she could have her happy end with jing.

haha same i think TJ is really cute and good for the FL but i also like XL for her aswell 😭

i just started this drama it’s really good so far but i’ve been watching some edits does anyone know who she actually ends up with ?? im kinda rooting for her and jing because from the first few episodes the liu guy literally tourtured her ?? 😭 but everyone is shipping them
