Just finished ep 11 and I really have to say I love how active and smart and independent the female heroine is. Both she and the crown prince are interesting characters separately.
You're exactly right! The king very obviously has a liking for young women. Both the queen and the consort are very young. The queen is actually about 7 years younger than his daughter! While age did and still does matter in Korean society, rank back than was even more important. And since concubines are former court maids and thus slaves, she is placed very low in rank. Not to mention that her husband went "mad" and tarnished the royal reputation. She lives a comfortable life, but with little power.
No she's still the consort of the CP's father and is allowed to live in the palace because the CP is her son. The other woman is the royal consort of the king! The one who tricked the CP with the food together with the princess, the kings daughter
Is that a more accurate translation of what he said? I think the subtitles in English read something like just…
My Korean is rusty at its best and especially with the old Korean...but I'm pretty sure he said that if San took her/has his way with her (any wording for taking her to bed) this passion he feels for her will be gone because that's what everyone goes through (kind of like implying that this is a man's experience) 🤔 though maybe you're right about the "concentration" part...either way he was implying for San to get it out of his system sexually
I'm really not vibing with San choking her... :( and to be honest, this gives me bad foreshadowing vibes about him and this whole possible madness being handed down to the son...it IS a melodrama after all sidgskdbajg. I still love it a lot though I just wish it would be addressed. But at the same time she's a servant and that was the master's right. But I don't like it specifically because it's intertwined within the romance element.
It's the kind of drama you watch just for fun so you don't have to think about your responsibilities. It can't compete with the other ongoing historical dramas but I've grown quite fond of it!
