One thing which bothered me was the ML who is capable of almost single handedly capable of destroying an entire enemy group is going along with his father to get engaged. Also after he escapes from jail, he doesn't make any efforts to free the girl who was solely there because of being at a wrong place at wrong time. Even after they meet later, he doesn't even inquire what happened later or ho did she get freed?
I have not watched the drama yet, so I could be wrong.I am thinking from the perspective of the exes. Why does it take 10 years for the leads to realise that they are with wrong people?. In asian culture getting married within an age is a very real thing. If they were not really getting along, letting them go very early in the relationship would have been the kind thing to do, for both, that they at least have the time to find a better partner. Once a cheater, always a cheater.
There are many dramas with more than one couple and the second ML pairing with the second FL can also be called as the second lead. There have been many a dramas where the second couple's story is more interesting than the first. Those leas definitely cannot be called selfish.
Ha ha ha. I also need to learn how to "shut down when challenged by what I feel is a negative response and auto bring up the most polite and non committal answer I can find." I am going to look for your comments from now to learn.
Who needs enemies if you have a sister like that ? . Imagine your own sister who lives one floor above cheating with husband. How could they look at her every days and act as if nothing is happening. Worst human beings.
Why was many boards shown with english rather than French when this was supposed to be taking place during the French colonization period of Shanghai ?.
The editing was bad. Many scenes did not have smooth transition and I felt like many important parts were deleted .
One of the first Kdramas I ever watched was Coffee Prince in while Eun Chan gives a piggy back ride to Han Gyul. Forget the gender part, looking at their physical size difference I was so amazed to see that. Remember it was my very first kdrama and piggy back rides for adults never existed in my mind. I still remember the shock . He was easily double her size.!
Whether something is a cliche or not depends on what you have been seeing most frequently. Probably because of my culture, feeding the ill cliche is almost always done by female in males , so for me male feeding the female is a novelty.
Previously I have watched Nam Goong Min only in romantic roles and was not a fan. His smile creeps me off. .But to say that I loved this drama would be an understatement. I would have loved a more fitting ending though, especially for Sun Min Sik. Many of the culprits did not get punished for their crimes and it leaves a bad taste.
I have always loved the performance of Choi Won Young and this drama was no exception. He was fantastic, as was Kim Byun Chul.
Not sure how far they subbed or the quality.
