I’ve been thinking about what you said, and I agree to a point, and here’s where I differ.
He has been used to seeing her as a person in power, a strong woman who has built her own successful business. Then seeing her vulnerable, yes, a hot mess, might have been a jolt.
I think this needs to be considered in context.
Not as if he’d walked into a bar and seen her for the first time…scarfing down chicken, sobbing, guzzling booze.
