I think it’s more complicated. It may not actually always be about him, but about his studio. I did a search but I couldn’t really relate to the issues. Hopefully someone who knows more about this will comment.
I do know that ordinary viewers can pull up the rating by going into each episode and giving it a good rating.

I did a search about it because I thought I remembered this happening to another Xu Kai drama. Haters ( though how you could hate Xu Kai is beyond me) make fake accounts and blitz the ratings giving a 1 star.
This should even out as thousands of viewers begin to give real ratings. Right now the rating of 7.9 is based on 355 reviewers.
What a shame.
