ALSO can we get some appreciation for Jae-hak? He acts so cute and treats his wife like a queen. He also cares so much about Junwan. Jaehak is so underrated
WHAT A GOOD EPISODE THIS WEEK I think this is going to be my go-to episode when I make a mistake. I loved how the theme was 'we all make mistakes and it's okay'. It was really refreshing. The Chang-Min scene broke me. It was so sad. WINTERGARDEN CAME THROUGH AS STRONG AS EVER. I really want to see Gyoeul call Andrea something other than professor. I also want to see Andrea jealous the way Gyoeul was in today's episode. It was so cute. Can't wait for the bear couple and Iksong next week. I can't wait
I genuinely have enjoyed some of the lakorns on this list. There have been some exceptional ones. But at the same time, lakorn fans particularly in the slap-kiss genre need to be critical I think. You need to watch it with the understanding that what's happening right now is most likely a crime and you shouldn't be with a partner that treats you this way. Romanticizing lakorns and their characters can be very harmful. To me, it's just fictional and fun. There have been lakorns that pushed my boundaries like Sawan Biang and Ra Rerng Fai which I despised. Some of those stories would have been great with the male lead sad and suffering. What an amazing ending. Some of them would've been good with a decent apology, guilt, and groveling maybe. I HATE ENDING WHERE THE FEMALE LEAD JUST FORGIVES LIKE BITCH THIS MAN RAPED YOU. What in the frickity frackity Stockholm syndrome bullshit is this? Anyways, if you are a new viewer, watch with caution. Some of them are really addicting.
PS: Hua Jai Sila and Game Sanaeha is also good slap-kiss lakorns. Game Sanaeha is unlike anything I've ever seen from a lakorn
THE TIME SKIP... I love that they foreshadowed it by saying "a year goes fast" multiple times. But I'm not sure what to feel about it yet. I think it's a good change because there's so much you can do with the plot right now. Junwan can't move on yet, Wintergarden is pretty fresh, Seokhyung and Minha need to solidify more and Songhwa was in Sokcho. So it made sense to have a change in the timeline. We can have new things now. At the same time, I'm hoping that the dynamics didn't change and the characters' growth doesn't feel very sudden but gradual. It would be very lazy writing if all of a sudden Seokhyung became like Ikjun and we don't get to see how or why. I wonder how they'll develop Chu Minha's storyline. I desperately want to see how or if she'll win Seokhyung over.
Anyways that's my two cents. Sad that I didn't get to see my Wintergarden couple grow but maybe there's something better on the way. See y'all next Thursday!
Thanks for the review! I thought this was a pretty good lakorn, maybe not a great one. Paeng is a great character,…
Hi! Do you know any dramas like "I guess I was expecting more like a Kleun Cheewit type of storyline, where the hero hates the heroine, but then he sees her go through so many trials, he can't help falling for her and trying to help her. Like, he could have been saving her from attempts on her life because her parents' murderer thought she saw him and so on. Or Artit sees her having horrible nightmares and realizes she's been through something horrific. I was hopeful when she fainted that one time that it was developing into such a story, but that was it until near the end."
It's my favourite trope. I love the "sees she has horrible nightmares" and feels guilty ones, I also love the "she fainted" and feels guilty ones. Anything that plays with male guilt like Kleun Cheewit which I absolutely adored.
Did something happen to gyeol wu in episode 5 preview? Someone pls tell me
The preview is so foreboding. I really hope Gyeo-ul isn't sick or something. Ahn Jeong won says "tell me if anything ever happens to Gyeo-ul". WHOT THE FOOK DOES THAT MEANNN? ARGHHHH IM DYING
I'm on 39, and I have 6 more to go BUT I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO ON. The old hag of a mother-in-law makes me want to kms AND I KNOW YALL LOVE LINGYI BUT HE'S SUCH A BAD HUSBAND. Every time the women act crazy I have to keep on telling myself it's the men that created this situation. The women are just products of the extreme patriarchy and sexism. ALSO WHYYY IS IT THIS LONGGGG. Anyways watch it if you have all the time in the world as I do. If you're a busy lad that actually helps the world, pls, by all means, skip it.
