On When Destiny Brings the Demon Dec 5, 2025
I feel like the story gets kinda mid in the middle toward the end. Its the classic problem of having a ML that’s too powerful. Suddenly, all the plot holes start showing. Some of his decisions would have been way easier if he just used the abilities he already had. Like… instead of using the truth spell (which he used constantly on the FL), why did he decide to enter Shi Qian Du’s dream with her?? I felt the misunderstanding was unnecessary.. But I get it.. this drama wouldn’t be 33eps if everything went too smoothly.
Also, its so weird how the FL remembered her modern world but didn’t remember the immortal world when she lost her memory. Or am I just clueless about how Xianxia logic works? I swear I was about to throw a fit if her memory loss dragged on, but when he said she deserved to move at her own pace… I melted instantly. Girl you won in life. He fell so hard for her, and their love just develops so naturally. Their romance is deep, and their intimacy? Top tier. You rarely see it that good in C-dramas!

There are some actors that (i swear I trieddddd many times to watch) I just cant watch their dramas. The vibes they are giving are just not it for me, and that includes Lee Jong Suk. But my fav actor JJH is in it, im so thorn. I agree the cast are amazing, but idkkk.. I feel like SMA face is too cute to play Navier.. lets see how she is going to play it out

The cast lineup is insanely good. I don’t know how they managed to bring together so many veteran actors for such a simple, almost generic romance drama but they pulled it off amazingly. Without these great actors, the story would’ve been just mediocre. And omg, I really missed seeing Ju Ji-hoon play a lovesick fool like this! He’s amazing

It’s been so long since I enjoy this kind of drama.. you can almost predict whats gonna happen, and tbh yes i noticed the plot holes. But its fun and heavy at the same time, its quite balance and fast paced as well! its a typical period drama, where they show us the bad guy in the first episode. thus, im just going to enioy how the story will unfold and their bickerings loll!! and oh my god i love their osts!!!

I agree guys the ending felt a bit unnecessary. I guess they wanted to show that during wartime, there’s no such thing as a perfectly happy ending where all the good people survive. Many suffer because of war.. it’s like the drama is telling us, “wake up, this is reality.” Damnn, I cried so much because of Tong Er and Jiang Li’s father when he found out about her identity. His acting was fantastic! I really felt for him. Honestly, I’d go insane if I were in his place. He could’ve been such an amazing dad if not for his ignorance.
That said, I actually struggled to finish this drama. To be honest, I loved the tension between the leads but only up until the point where they confessed their feelings. After that, it just felt so cringey. I don’t think they managed to portray being in love very convincingly. They’re amazing actors, but once the romance kicked in, I just didn’t feel the chemistry. Still, despite the lack of emotional pull in the romance, the writing and political storyline were spot-on. I’ve never been a fan of revenge dramas, but this one was definitely worth the watch!

Title Till the End of the Moon Spoiler
The ending was well deserved. The only episodes I truly enjoyed were the last two. I bawled my eyes out like crazy at 2am.. I was so frustrated with the way the FL acted during the human world arc. She said all those sweet things to him again and again, but then went on to do the complete opposite. She acted like him. But weren’t she supposedly not act like that? Cause she knows whats up with him? Her actions and distrust only made things worse than they already were. They spent so many eps in the human world, only for her to treat it like it was just “a dream.” I was this close to dropping the drama if she had chosen to distrust him again in the immortal world. At that point, I was ready to rate it a 4/10. Luckily, she finally started showing some improvement from her earlier stupidity and blindness. The only consistent and well developed character throughout the show was obv Tantai Jin and honestly, he carried the entire story. Of course, he had to grow; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been a good story. I have to mention how good all the actors were and how beautiful their costumes looked. They were all amazing actors, despite that poor fake blood vomiting scenes smh. BUTT seriously Luo Yun Xi you carried this whole drama, acting were superb!!! I swear his eyes and the way he looked at her😩Overall, I’d give it an 8.5/10, even though I hated Ye Xiwu’s actions so much. So many unnecessary scenes made me feel this drama could’ve easily been wrapped up in 35 eps.

Cheng Yi literally carried this 59eps drama with his incredible acting skills and the depth of his character. I’m not annoyed by the FL's character itself.. in fact, I believe she had a lot of potential, but im sorry to say that YBY’s acting just didn’t quite match Cheng Yi’s level. Even though I know her love was supposed to be deep (though not as deep as sifeng), I couldn’t bring myself to cry for her. Her emotions just didn’t feel fully conveyed. After she regained her six senses, her performance should’ve carried more emotional weight, but it fell flat.. especially in the last 5 eps.
It felt like Sifeng’s character reached 100 points in growth and emotional depth, while Xuanji’s development stopped at around 60. We should’ve seen at least another 20 points of maturity and emotional intelligence toward the end. I don’t know.. I just feel like FL’s character was still missing something...

I really enjoyed their character transitions. A perfect understanding male lead is nice, but it feels more natural when there are doubts and misunderstandings in a relationship. It’s realistic. Life can’t always be too perfect, and I loved every moment of their fights. Instead of turning into the ‘bad guy,’ they chose to change and grow into better people for each other.. and that’s the true beauty of love.

A solid 9/10. I gave it a 9 cos I cried so much for the emperor, his life was such a moving story. I also really wanted Song Han to have a better life. I understand his role in Prince Qing’s coup, but honestly, a happy ending for him would’ve been nice. IMO, His character’s turn felt a bit unnatural. Another reason for the 9 is the cinematography.. It is absolutely stunning and so cinematic. Especially the first and last 5 episodes! just WOW. On top of that, the characters are well-written and the actors were excellent. Definitely a must-watch! I'm so gonna miss their opening song, so nice!!

It’s definitely gripping. Ever wondered why dramas are so predictable these days? They keep babying us—dropping hints here and there just to make sure we understand what’s going on. Although this drama is quite dramatic and even a bit twisted, I think it feels realistic. In real life, we don’t really know what’s going on inside other people’s minds or lives. The show depicts that in such a unique way, and since it’s a slow burn, I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It isn’t my cup of tea either, but I don’t know why—I ended up enjoying it so much!

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
The dude felt guilty for things he didn’t even do? He chose the most dangerous place just bcs the sunset there reminded him of her? And the crazier part is that she actually went there to bring him back. I think after 14 eps of such a solid storyline and buildup, we really didn’t need a forced, cringe dramatic romance at the end like that. The ending could have just been a sweet, simple reconciliation. His guilt wasn’t a strong enough reason for him to go to a war zone—that’s just peak drama. This could’ve been an 8.5, but they sadly ruined it

When a FL is shown as super positive and full of energy the whole time, then suddenly in the last episode she’s burnt out and trying to let go. Like… was that even necessary at that point? It just kills the vibe, the buildup doesn’t match, and the story ends up feeling generic and boring. I mean, I get what they were trying to show — the ML has changed and being v supportive, and honestly the actors are excellent and the characters are great. (its a miracle the actors managed to make it not cringey) It’s just the way they portrayed her in the last two episodes could’ve been handled so much better. This drama missed one thing: being special

So I put this drama on hold in 2021 and just finished it today. Tell me guys, did he just cry in the last episode? After all the great chemistry and conflicts, they took all the logic out of it with that tear..
