I tried watching episodes 1 and 2 for Freen and Becky, but I don't know if I can continue with this one. Does this get better in the later episodes? And do Kongkwan and Fon get a decent amount of screen time together?

I think he learned Japanese at university! By the way, I'm Japanese, but when I heard him talk for the first time, I was shook. He almost sounds like a native speaker! Many foreigners who've lived here for more than ten years can't even talk like him.
