the backstories aren’t meant to be background, they’re part of the show and eventually weave into the current timeline very well. they did a great job at this especially because a lot of shows with similar premises fail at it

that's fine you don't have to like her acting but i was really impressed by everyone even down to the side characters. i think park seo joon did a great job here especially. i'm not super into the story but he made an otherwise impersonal plot feel emotive which can't be easy
