I really like the cast, but this screenwriter is terrible. I'm nervous about this, and the divorce storyline is not my cup of tea. However, I was so excited for Lee Dong Wook to do another comedy. i guess I'll wait for the reviews

Cliché does not always mean bad, and it was not merely saved by KSH's (I'm abbreviating kim soo hyun as KSH) popularity. People genuinely liked the story and the chemistry between the leads. Saying that KSH saved it is wrong and offensive (even though KSH is my favorite actor). If you think QOT's script was as bad as WTSG script, then you are objectively wrong. Subjectively, you may think otherwise, and that's fair. If the story was bad as you say, it wouldn't have been the most popular drama on Netflix in 2024 and the highest-rated drama in tvN history. It doesn't happen like that. Actors alone can't achieve this, not even KSH. People enjoyed the script, which is why it that way.
You can definitely say that KSH, KJW, and the cast enhanced the viewing experience, and it wouldn't be as loved if they weren't good. However, saying that KSH's popularity saved him is not accurate. KSH's popularity skyrocketed even more after QOT, more than QOT's popularity skyrocketed due to KSH.
I thought people didn't like some of the characters she has played in the past, but her acting was good. I didn't know that people disliked her acting as well.
