welcome, hmmm I guess it's because saying I love you the first thing would be too direct? in Chinese culture (and some other Asian cultures)
As because one's culture etc, Asians arent as direct in communcation especially say compared to americans (especially white people) Note: though that's not to say that there aren't Asians who are direct and white people who aren't blunt/direct
