Every criticism of this drama is valid, but what can I say? It's my guilty pleasure, my cheesy, over-the-top, predictable guilty pleasure. Sue me (pun intended)!

This is all in all a perfect drama; an original, funny and emotional story, quirky characters, beautiful production design, the CLOTHES OMG, amazing songs, an element of mystery and it touches on mental health.

A bit weird, I'm not going to lie, but a good weird. It's so cute and fluffy and I've never seen a more beautiful smile than Yoo Seung Ho's. I love the writers for not going the traditional jealousy route with the exes and rivals.

The story and acting were top notch. Barring something that happened in the last episode, this was perfect. And I love little Baek Eun Ha and her love for dad and egg tarts.

On Because This Is My First Life May 8, 2022
An insightful rom-com. It touches on several hardships of modern life: the housing crisis, following your heart vs playing it safe, the reality of being a daughter in a conservative family. I loved it. The "Will you marry me? Can you answer quickly, the bus driver is waiting." scene was a highlight for me.

If I pretend the last episode didn't happen, then this was the perfect rom-com. I loved the second couple every bit as much as I love the first couple. Full of tropes and aware of that fact, but done with a twist so they feel fresh. I loved the drama within a drama and grandpa (minus the final episode) and the archeopteryx!

Honestly, I am pissed!!! If Koreans want to feature Africa in their movie, they should do it accurately. For the…
I debated whether to reply to this post, because I don't want to disrespect or invalidate other opinions, definitely not. I have seen posts with similar sentiments to yours and I just wanted to give my take.
I think the drama knowingly or unknowingly brought up an unpleasant truth; that these volunteering missions to Africa/Asia/Latin America are purely for the purpose of restoring public image and thus self-serving. But these publicity stunts do happen.
While Africa, Asia, Latin America continue to be exploited systematically these charities are useless, void and rooted in racism. But again these charities exist and I feel an immense resentment at the hypocrisy. I think however that to be angry at the depiction in a drama, while being indifferent to the reality is pointless.
The being vague about which African country it is, is - I think - to avoid controversy and back lash (LOL and how did that turn out for ya, drama?). But even if I think that, I still can't deny it's insulting.
