Article Why Do Older Actors Take the Role of Young Characters?
I just finished watching Under the Power. The actual ages of the actors were all over the map in relationship to their characters' ages. I guess the director would have been hard pressed to find actors in their late teens who could carry off the lead roles over 55 episodes. Actually, it doesn't bother me because I become lost in the story. That's the job of a good actor If I had to rationalize it, I could say that historically people of the past had shorter life spans and were forced by the harshness of their world to mature earlier.
