The show kicks off with a dramatic but unconvincing scene: a guy with a bomb strapped to his body, surrounded by a full police force. Of course, our male lead (ML) arrives in the nick of time to save the day. The scene feels like itās just there to give the ML and female lead (FL) a reason to trust each other later. Itās over-the-top, weakly executed, and lacks any real tension. The only good thing? The OST. Letās see if it gets better because... yikes, what a start.
Episode 2: Ignoring Chemistry (Literally)
ML is busy ignoring FL, while FL is busy sneaking glances at him. Thereās some awkward eye contact, but the chemistry? Still ice cold. At a wedding, the two end up reminiscing about their past, including that kiss, but itās more awkward than emotional. Itās like the writers said, āHereās a whole episode to melt this iceā and then... didnāt.
Episode 3: Weddings, Cheerleaders, and Chaos
The wedding drags on, with random subplots popping out of nowhere. A support character tries to flirt with ML, but everyone can see heās not into it. Then we get a basketball match (why?) and cheerleaders doing a full dance routine (also, why?). Things get dramatic when FL runs out after a photo scandal. ML, being the ML, takes her home, and they finally start to reconnect. Meanwhile, FLās trauma is teased through her late best friendās story. Oh, and can we talk about how 2ML is already giving off suspicious vibes? Is he too nice, or is there something shady going on? Either way, weāre watching.
Episode 4: Lighting Up the Darkness (Literally)
ML lights up the dark alley FL mentioned earlier (subtle, right?). Itās a sweet gesture that helps them bond during a walk. FL smiles, ML smilesāitās all very rom-com, but weāll allow it. Meanwhile, FLās stalker plot thickens, and itās obvious someoneās targeting her because of her late best friend. Suspicious much? Back in the hospital, FL performs surgery on MLās dad, and he shares a heartfelt moment explaining why he became a cop. Cute. But seriously, 2ML is still hanging around looking nice... too nice. Is he secretly a villain? Probably.
Episode 5: Flashbacks, Jealousy, and Psycho Guys
ML and FL take a trip down memory lane, recalling their contrasting personalitiesāFL being terrible at school while ML was a sports star. The nostalgic moments are sweet, but the episode quickly shifts gears with FLās friend dealing with a psycho stalker. FL arranges for her friend to meet her favorite celebrity (using 2MLās help, of course), but the stalker shows up to ruin everything. 2ML swoops in to save the day, scoring points with FL. Meanwhile, ML gets jealous, interrupts their moment, and broods over old photos of FL. Classic ML behavior. Oh, and can we just say itās way too obvious that 2ML might have something going on? Villain arc incoming?
Episode 6:
ML invites FL to dinner, but naturally, the secondary female lead crashes the party. ML shuts her down hard (as he should), but not before she causes chaos. Later, ML and FL share another nostalgic walk, this time ending on a happy Sad note. Just when ML plans to leave the city, FL decides to stop him, but in a surprise twist, he chooses to stay lol
Overall Thoughts
The series so far feels like a mix of random subplots, forced drama, and predictable story beats. The pacing is slow, with unnecessary distractions (cheerleader dances, really?). ML and FLās reconnection is happening, but itās hard to care with all the chaos around them. 2MLās ātoo-good-to-be-trueā vibes make him the perfect candidate for a future villaināor at least someone shady. For now, itās all just light entertainment. Weāre still watching, but mostly to see how wild it gets next.
P.S.: Donāt judge meājust random writing thoughts I had while watching! š Just having fun with the story. Also, no, 2ML isnāt ruined; Iām just making him a villain for the suspense because otherwise... Iām bored.
and The hate before even seeing the drama is definitely prematureāsometimes itās better to let the story unfold before forming an opinion.
