Actually, it's not the first time Nuchy uses this kind of platforms, in fact I realized she reused songs in Not Me I had heard before in her last project, After Dark, and believe me, that series had a good budged, it even had its own compositions. So I can imagine it also comes from her own directing style

yeah, even the hosts, the screenwriters and nuchy agreed the library's songs give the series a unique indie/european vibe, what fits it a lot, so at the end it was a good choice. I'm personally in love with a lot of them, so I'm really glad it turned like this.
And I don't think the melody you're talking about is original, since I didn't see any composer named in the final credits when I checked them out. I don't know why we cannot find it with any identifier app, but I don't think it's the reason. Per example, I remember Sean and White's rooftop kiss scene song (the oeoeoe one) wasn't able to be identified with that apps either, it was the director who had to tell fans what the song was, and in that case it wasn't original.

I didn't understand it was a free song library, they actually have had to pay for all the licences, but how Nuchy explained, it's more affordable than getting your own compositions
She even thinks on it as a way to find very quality pieces, and she admits having wondering how new composers in the industry will compete against those platforms to make themselves a room
i'm a simp for clamp's old school works and tokyo babylon will always have a special place for me, i wish we could get a live action adaption of the whole thing, but getting a proper anime is being such a struggle though
