Agree 100% . In fact this is the kinda ending i was anticipating. So it was perfect for me.
Did you even watch the drama? she regretted not telling him what she wanted to say instead of saying mean things, not regretted that she broke up with him. LMAO

For sure they moved on, definitely. She obviously doesn't regret breaking up, they had to. It was for the better, for the sake of both of them. There really wasn't anything that indicated that adult Heedo or adult Yijin didn't move on or that they regretted breaking up (at least it wasn't shown), considering that HD also has Minchae. Moving on is one thing, but them being their first loves to one another is another

It was a great ending. I especially liked the contrast of the relationship between yurim-ji woong and heedo-yijin.…
true.. it really wasn't an all out romance drama, this was more focused on coming of age and youth / adulting.

He was immersed in work, he saw people dying, and suffering from the tragedy, it didn't matter whether there were other people covering the news, he wanted to do it. That's the main point why he chose NY over Korea, people were dying and also probably cause he wanted to expand his career and learn more in NY. Precisely, what you said, they were busy people, athletes have matches every now and then and reporters have to report news everyday too. It's not about the decision whether they wanted to be together and have a long distance relationship, they didn't think much about it. When they were together at least, they loved each other. I mean, you don't really go and think about what will happen in the future when your love in the present, is much stronger, you just want to get together with the person, both of them were also the same, I mean we're all humans. They probably didn't know that their relationship would become like this, and grow so distant.. things always happen .. I wouldn't say there wasn't much change in their situation which result in their breakup, from the moment they started dating, their careers were already in the way and already starting to break apart. At least it's not some stupid reason like in Monthly Magazine Home, they suddenly threw the 'your parent hurt my parent' troupe and broke off in the last episode. So I think this is more realistic imo

Title Twenty Five Twenty One Spoiler
Is the last scene with the voiceover an alternate ending for the couple if they didn't argue like they did? Like…
yea it was an imagination ending, from the notebook itself. they played out the scene as if they were talking to each other irl when it was only on the notebook. there were 3 different breakup scenes in the last ep

altho many people are divided over the ending, i see many great comments about the ending with the same take as me. it's realistic, meaningful, this show was a masterpiece truly. i know many people watch dramas for the fantasy, the happy ending.. whether two leads end up together but sometimes life don't go the way you want, and i think everyone should learn how to open up to and accept these kind of endings too ;) writer had the capability to do either this or a happy ending, but let's respect the decision. i think both are good, the story makes up for it

people don't want a realistic ending now? Among the other kdramas, this is one of few appropriate and realistic…
true. although the writer had the capability to turn it into a happy ending but it works either way, it's expected that more people would want a happy ending but this ending was more realistic and the heartbreaking factor rly do have a big impact, it makes the story more meaningful(?) in a sense. not sure how to say it but yea
