Muslims don’t take Iblis and jinn lightly they're not your typical "demons" used in shows and fictional stories....they’re real spiritual beings in Islam, not just “cool monsters.” Iblis is basically the ultimate tempter, and jinn can affect humans. So seeing a drama turn them into romanticized love interests can feel really disrespectful and uncomfortable, cuz it treats serious religious concepts like a casual story and ofc other inaccurate reasons

So basically, you’re saying it’s fine to watch and enjoy this drama even if it blatantly disrespects someone/your religion, as long as it’s ‘just entertainment’? That logic seems… conveniently one-sided. Instead of simply choosing not to watch it and leaving you reason to not watch this drama, you’d defend letting it disrespect the beliefs of others? For example, if a show mocked Buddhism or any other beliefs in a way that made believers uncomfortable, your argument would be that it’s still fine to watch cuz ‘it’s just a drama’? That doesn’t really sound like respecting anyone, does it?

I get that people use this space to escape, but that doesn’t mean discussion or critical thinking should be erased. Comment sections exist for people to share their thoughts...whether it’s praise, critique, or personal reaction. Nobody is forcing anyone to read it, and leaving a comment isn’t “taking over” the space...it’s using it as intended.

Also, pointing out cultural or religious issues isn’t the same as bringing politics or religion into a debate for argument’s sake. It’s literally just observing how media represents beliefs and history. It’s ironic to say “this is just fiction, escape it” while policing how others respond to that fiction.

I haven’t watched the drama nor do I plan to after seeing the reviews and ofc it's for personal reasons.... I have nothing against the actors or their hard work and i can just wait for their other projects and I’m sure plenty of people will enjoy this one.

But what’s really disappointing is seeing how quickly some comments dismiss anyone who raises cultural or religious concerns...calling them “crazy” or acting like they can’t separate fiction from reality. like aren't people allowed to think critically about media??

You don’t have to agree with every critique, but shutting people down with insults just shows you’d rather silence perspectives than actually engage with them. If anything, that says more about you than the people you’re mocking

It’s called critical thinking dumbass. Fiction doesn’t exist in a vacuum... it borrows from real beliefs, cultures, and histories, and people are allowed to call out when it’s done poorly

I Didn’t even know this was releasing today… anyway im trusting suzy on this one, fingers crossed it delivers. It’s been a while since I watched her acting... (didn't watch her last Netflix drama ☹️)

I hope he picks up projects from platforms like tvn, coupang tv, and especially sbs.....sbs scripts are consistently strong like connection, flex x cop, and black out. I really enjoyed them and actually consider them some of the best shows i’ve watched in his absence.

After The Manipulated, there’s no way jcw signs on for another Disney+ drama, right? 😭 He’s already done four projects with them in just the past two years

So to determine whether a show is even eligible for the list, it has to be under 30 days on the countdown… and once it’s eligible the watcher count dictates the order?

Why isn’t it this show showing up on the Top Upcoming Shows list? To make the top 3 you only need about 4,921 watchers, but this drama already has 6,041—and the poster, teaser, and release date are all out, so it really should be ranked right???
