What is the timeline of that?! It’s soooo damn confusing. The guy, that his dad likes, dies and he couldn’t change the fate. But yet he went back and is happy go lucky at the end. Isn’t the guy dead? If not, doesn’t that mean he will die eventually and is he gonna try to save him again or just let him die? I’m so confused… I felt like the credit running scene should have been left out. Help me! Sorry I only commented now. I literally just finished watching it 10mins ago! 😅

It was cute and sweet and fluffy. But, the reason for the “drama/problem” in the story was kinda ridiculous. I wish they thought a bit more about the reason to what would make him run away at first. Something like his first unrequited love played with his feelings by starting a friends-with-benefit relationship only to find out in the end that he actually liked someone else via the scene that played out as “the reason”. I think that would have been more traumatic and a better reason to why he would react like that. As it is, I was more irritated by his unreasonable snowflake feelings. 🥺 (Sorry for the weird way I’m writing this, I didn’t want to give away any spoilers. 😅)

Just finished Episode 7 and the friends have the cheek to find Vee and say “When are you going to explain to us? Why didn’t you explain to us?” I’m like “WTF?!?! He said MANY times he can explain but everyone either punch him, slap him or told him to get lost!” Seriously!!! And guess what?!?! I predicted right!!! It WAS a surprise kiss AND a goodbye kiss!!! He didn’t want it but she forced it on him! Anyway.. his undying loud declaration of love to Mark at the end of Ep7 is cute!

I’m at Episode 7 right now, and not fully finished the episode but argh!!! I’m pist at how everyone just jumped and got angry with Vee just because they caught a GLIMPSE of him and his ex kissing. Despite the fact that he pushed her away right after the kiss. I thought they learned the lesson from earlier (during the orientation camp) to trust each other. At least hear him out and let him explain how it happened and what it meant! I mean Bar misunderstood Kan when he “saw” him talking to a girl. And then Mark himself experienced how a situation can be misread like when Vee walked in on him both him and Nuea were half naked on the bed in Mark’s room with Mark leaning above Nuea. Like don’t you think you should at least give him a chance to explain himself first?! What if his ex was the one who kissed him by surprise? Or maybe she did it as a last goodbye?! Like are everyone dumb?! Argh!!!! I was ok to tolerate all the lack of communication when there were problems and I am in a long term relationship so I understand when there are times it’s hard to communicate but for something like this, I’ll at least hear him out and then make my judgment after. Argh!!! I get Vee had lots of imperfections. But the way they reacted to the situation make them no different from how Vee behaves at the first half of the series. Well, hopefully it picks up Ep8. And I’m just rambling. To see if there are like minded people. This one comment on ONE episode doesn’t represent my feelings for the whole series. I still think it’s a very enjoyable and cute series. Just this one thing made me smack my forehead so hard with my palm and then screaming at my screen “Let him f**king explain!!!!!!!!!”

I left a terrible comment for Love Stage Live Action. It was soooo cringe and terrible. But then I watched this and I’m so so so happy that they did not try to make this a comedy by putting in overly dramatic reactions/acting as one would usually find in manga or anime. It never works! The only time Japanese live actions do good is when they portray it as close to slice of life/real life. This did it soooooo well!!! I just wish Japan will continue to make more dramas/movies, not just BLs, to be as good as this. It’s ok to make it comedic but not with the overacting because it’s just cringy. I love love this so much I might go rewatch it again!!! I seriously highly recommend this! I’m gonna go spread this to all my friends! Hehe… good job! Kudos to the director, the production team and the actors! (They actually freaking kissed! Not some lame ass lips hovering or lips keeping still like time froze. This one actually had chemistry! I wonder if they did workshops like Thai and Taiwan BLs usually do to create the chemistry for intimate scenes.) Again, this is just amazingly sweet and fluffy and just the right amount of angst for a short 5 episodes. I just wish there were more!!!!

Awww.. thank you! No… to be honest, I’m in a lot of shit thanks to all the flights being cancelled. The flight I was suppose to be on yesterday got cancelled and I have a dog with me so we have to redo all the documents and is now aiming for the last chance to fly on Wednesday. If that fails or get cancelled again, we will just have to throw in the white flag and stay for another year or so. (Currently homeless with my dog and living out of suitcases and a car but our friends been really nice to put us up for awhile.)

Thanks for sharing the list. I know most of them actually. And I like them. Hence why I say there are still some that are well done or even exceptional. Actually, I grew up on Japanese dramas so my threshold on over the top acting is actually pretty high and forgiving but Love Stage was just too hard for me to watch and trust me, I tried! I actually stuck all the way to the end of the movie, hoping that at some point it will improve. But it never. And it’s the fact that I watched an equally shitty one before this that made me frustrated.

I am. I’m moving to the U.K. this Friday actually. If the flight is not cancelled. Japan has its flaws. And it’s ok to say they have flaws. No one is perfect. And do I still love Japan? Yes I do. I’ve been a teacher for years here. I WANT to help them change for the better. And I have been. Slowly educating the kids about the way they say something is racist. Or that the way they thought of something is not fair or equal to everyone. So if you ask me, if I have the chance to live my life here in Japan to continue teaching these kids to build a better future generation that thinks and behaves different from the current generation. I would love to. I’m moving cos of my husband’s job. I DON’T want to give up on the younger generation and just sweep the problems of the countries under a rug and pretend to not see it with my rosy tinted glasses that I’ve had on for the first 5 years I was here. I’m slowly realising things in this country and its cultures that are flawed are shown in their dramas at times. And if you did read till the end, you know that I am a HUGE fan of Japanese dramas for years. And I have always thought the best of them. But as I open my eyes to new stuff from other countries and speak to the people in this country, I realise that I’ve just been bias for a long time. And I’m glad I’m finally seeing new stuff from other countries but I still stand by comment about this and another BL drama I watched recently that was just cringey and bad.

And yes, I did ALSO say that before, I used to only watch Japan and Taiwan ones and had no interest in South Korea or Thailand but in recent years, they are making better ones than Japan. So yes, I know South Korea also didn’t make good BLs before but they are changing and that’s why its sad for me that Japan still hasn’t changed their way. I live here. I see it in their everyday life, they way they educate people, the way they do and think about things, they are changing but very very slowly. Much slower than other Asian countries around them. And it’s sad that the change for better will take much longer time to happen which is why South Korea and Thailand are catching when they USED to be the cringey ones. Look, Japanese themselves say the same thing about their dramas and movies, and TV shows. They themselves are more into South Korean shows than their own shows! Isn’t that sad? So people can keep telling me I’m wrong with my views and opinions but I’m just saying what I’ve seen and heard from Japanese people and from my own experiences. (And yes, I do think South Korea will slowly make better ones in the future. At least the ones I’ve seen recently look more natural and have better chemistry.)

Yes… of course, I know that. I live in Japan. And I grew up watching Japanese drama series. Firstly, I mentioned BL series because this is a BL. Secondly, with other genres of dramas, they are done MORE with seriousness than with exaggerated weird ass gestures than the BL genre. (Of course, there are still A LOT out there that are terribly exaggerated compared to other countries’ dramas.) I’ve been a die hard supporter of Japanese dramas for over 20 years. And it’s only RECENTLY I started to watch Thai and Korean. So even as someone who is usually VERY bias (and still am to be honest cos I tend to stay loyal to the things I like), it saddens me that I have to admit that this is so terrible, it’s just rubbish. (Especially that scene with Ryoma legs going off like spider legs on roller blades over wanting to kiss Izumi and seriously the faces he pulls. Argh…)

This is soooooo bad… two Japanese BL drama in a row that sucked so bad. They really need to do something with the way their actors act. Stop making BL dramas like gay people are over the top and silly all the time. There’s only a handful of good BL dramas from Japan. And they need to step up their game against Thailand and Korea. This is something I would expect maybe like 7 or 8 years ago. Definitely not a 2020s movie. Just tone down the crazy cringed acts and it could be more enjoyable. I really cringed and hated every moment. I hoped it will get better but it didn’t. I loved the anime and manga so this shucks. And guess what? Thailand is remaking this as a drama. And I can guarantee 100% that it will be 200 times better than this one. (It’s actually releasing every week right now.) I’m really sad because I started out as ONLY supporting Japanese dramas. Then I started on Taiwan but I wasn’t interested in Korean or Thailand. But how things have changed because Japan being Japan, doesn’t want to change. Even Japanese people say they don’t like to watch their own shows because it’s so noisy and crazy and the acting are the worst. (I live in Japan and have asked many.) It’s no wonder Korean and Thailand dramas, actors/actresses and songs are getting more world wide recognition. While Japan is still stuck on post war, fake happiness by being loud and crazy in everything you do, in acting and comedy. Whew. Enough ranting. I can’t say enough how disappointed I am. I hate to have to admit that it’s going downhill for Japan. (Like I said, I know it’s not all. There are still a nice handful of them that are done well or exceptionally but I’ve seen enough of these crappy ones that make me want to claw my flesh out from my arms from how cringey and bad the acting was.)

Yea, I don’t think you know much about Gulf. Gulf’s personality IS like that. You can watch any other lives he has done with other people and it’s the same or he’s even more quiet cos he doesn’t have the same level of comfort he has with Mew. Gulf is just a shy and introverted person. Everyone else has to do the talking cos Gulf’s introverted and I myself am a shy and introverted person too. I struggle with anxiety and being nervous about how to hold a conversation, etc. I’m glad my husband helps me with the talking at times. So if you don’t understand an introverted person’s feelings and thoughts, please don’t judge. I think they are lucky to have found each other, there’s no denial that both have helped each other in various ways.

Art didn’t say Mew was gay, he outed him by saying Mew kissed him, but we don’t know if Mew is gay, pan sexual or bisexual. But there have been direct interviews with Mew or Lives in which Mew said he doesn’t believe in loving only one gender. He said he loves someone for their personality and the qualities he looks for in a partner. Regardless of sex, so in that case, yes, it’s confirmed that Mew is pan. We don’t know about Gulf though. But I’m Waanjais and in my fantasy land, they are engaged. Bwhahahahahahahaha....

Actually, in TharnType, they are not engineer students. One majors in music and the other in health science or something related to health. Neither of them are engineers. Hehe..

I might do what you suggest then. Just skip the last episode. And if I do feel depressed because my curiosity made me watch the last episode, I’ll just re-watch Right or Wrong. (My favorite in the series!)
