Who is the father of Siao tiao son? Is it really tietou?
i skipped a lot after ep 20, so i’m curious about this as well haha. but it’s definitely not tietou’s son. he’s not the most likable character, but i don’t think his morals are that low, especially since he was so devoted to yinzi...
Is Mrs Fei the mother of Wendian ? Why is she so obsessed over her brother in law ?
women from her time were very conservative (she also couldn’t accept the idea of remarrying). she carried the responsibility of continuing the family line, so it makes sense why she felt such urgency for wendian to settle down and have children. after the bandit arc, she backed off a little when she realised she couldn’t get through to him and didn’t want to pressure susu either. but with wendian’s death + seeing susu ready to move on and even have a child with someone else, that was the last straw for her. she just couldn’t accept that everything was really over and that she could never fulfill the responsibility the fei ancestors had entrusted to her.
this doesn’t mean she isn’t an annoying character 😆 but i think it’s important to understand why she acts the way she does. it’s all tied to her upbringing and the patriarchal society she was accustomed to.
I’ll speak for myself, I was not asking for a happy ending with everyone singing and dancing in circles. I understand…
THIS! 💯
ngl, the only thing that really stood out in this drama was the styling and makeup 😆 not even yang mi’s acting saved it because her character was not very likeable tbh.
kinda bummed with how the story was developed, especially since it started off so strong. it almost felt like the writer went through something and just poured all that frustration into the script 🥲 the story didn’t feel heartfelt at all..more like a self-sabotage mission lol
They kind have to go through so many time skips or mention things here and there while showing this and that to…
if those time skips were really necessary, i think they could have been wrapped up much better. each one felt so abrupt that it broke the flow of the story. especially since, even years later, characters are still referencing past events as if the skipped years never actually happened 😬 this is just my opinion though 😆
idk i thought he was supposed to die in jail anyway
the time skips made the writing seem a little lazy to me. they should’ve kept to 1 time skip (if they really wanted to include it) and then continue to develop the story naturally from there. but they had already lost the flow of the story after the bandit arc imo
am i the only one who feels the story is kind of rushed now? after the time skip, wendian’s death was just thrown at us…like yeah, there’s a war, but it didn’t feel so significant?
they wasted those episodes with the appearance of lulu, but couldn’t give us proper episodes to make us feel sad about wendian’s death? 🤨 …or maybe i’m just fully disconnected from this drama now 😅
I'm not even surprised about Xiu Xiu miscarriage. She was everywhere all over the place, she drank, she starved....…
im with you here. only not dropping it to see how more ridiculous things could play out 🤦🏻♀️ i’ve already committed 29 episodes, it ends soon, so why not?
i dont know why people think that the plot is going haywire or it doesnt make sense in the last few episodes.none…
tbh, here’s how i see it: most people don’t actually care if a show is super realistic or not. they just want a good story that makes them feel something, preferably something good lol. and that’s what the screenwriter totally missed from the audience’s pov. viewers today aren’t the same as back in the 80s or 90s, when tragic, over-the-top plots were the norm to pull people in. now, people just want to be entertained without feeling more stressed than they already are 🥲
that doesn’t mean sad or frustrating moments shouldn’t exist, but it needs to be done in a way that still feels satisfying to watch, or somehow necessary for character growth (for reference, when life gives you tangerines executed this really well).
at first, this drama felt like it did want to promise its viewers with something satisfying, rewarding and happy (such as the FL not getting raped by the bandits like she was in the novel (apparently), as well as her determination to make a life of her own because her father is a shit father and person and she refuses to rely on him). but right now, every character in this series is just straight up annoying af. the FL especially... like why is she always sticking her nose into other people’s business?? does she think she’s some kind of saviour?? meanwhile she can’t even handle her own life and pregnancy… it just doesn’t make sense, and that’s on the script.
honestly feels like iqiyi is trying to push this drama just because it checks some boxes that align with pro-ccp messaging… 😬
i'm only continuing this drama because i've already committed more than halfway 😂 all of the characters are starting to become so annoying and stupid tbh 🥲 the story itself has so much potential, but the characters are such let downs. i haven't seen any personal growth from anybody apart from yinzi... i actually think she would make a more interesting main character 😆 kind of don't understand why this is topping iqiyi right now other than it stars yang mi lmao 🤨
i find Tie Tou so annoying..I can not even feel sorry for him.Honestly i hope yin zi does not end up with him.He…
oh boy, i was agreeing with this statement until i watched ep 26 today 🥲 because any little bit of sorry i had for the father went down the drain after today’s episodes lol
im sure the show has differences to the book, but has someone read the book and able to spoil me what happened please? does xiu xiu give birth and does the child grow up safely? her running around and honestly meddling in other people’s businesses and stressing herself is getting on my nerves. she’s starting to piss me off, like when she agreed to drink with lulu (like wtf)?

the second half of the drama was truly a disappointment. it started off so good, why did the writer have to ruin it? 😑

i still find tietou annoying though 😂
