it's only episode 4 and it feels like SO much has happened whereas some other seasons wouldn't have gotten nearly this far by episode 15. they're actually exploring the interesting themes that people were hoping for when it was first announced. my only complaint that I'm sure they will get to in the near future: more screentime for George lol
Omg the season just got released and someone started complaining that how much toxic issue the fl has and that…
ridiculous how people are so willing to jump on and blame a fl for literally anything. i've seen dramas where the ml has a high "body count" as well and yet ppl never blame the character themselves, if they insult anyone it's always the writers.
doubtful lmao...cdramas are selling a fantasy. usually stupid female leads are done as a way to advance the plot…
off the top of my head: Yanxi Palace, Story of Ming Lan, Princess Weiyoung, Royal Nirvana, Scarlet Heart, Rise of Phoenixes, The Imperial Coroner, Begin Again, Nothing Gold Can Stay, The Legends, Young Blood, Maiden Holmes, The Long Ballad, A Girl Like Me. The last 5 aren't exactly scheming per se, but they have quite badass fl's who are really competent and quick on their feet if they do find themselves in bad situations.
Historical dramas tend to give you better chances for finding female leads like that, especially if they are involved in court politics, but i understand that not everyone is into that type of storyline.
i got like halfway into the movie and then tapped out...i think if i was actually invested in the main couple i would enjoy it a lot more, but the fl just gives everything a kinda "blah" feeling despite it trying to be somewhat campy. there's an fmv on youtube that showcases the movie in a really good way
the only unironically good thing about the movie is the cinematography. seriously artsy despite a mediocre plot. in fact, the cinematography and atmosphere of the movie are so well done that it's able to delude people into thinking this is a masterpiece.
Off topic. This question if for anyone who lives in China or experienced living in China. Are relationships in…
doubtful lmao...cdramas are selling a fantasy. usually stupid female leads are done as a way to advance the plot or prolong the story in some way. there's just as many cdramas out there with smart/scheming FLs as there are naive ones
At first look, does he remind anyone of Wang Yibo? Or is it just me?
I thought the same too! Maybe not so much in the pic they used here but theyre so similar when you compare them with long hair (ie. Cheng Ling vs Xie Yun)
I might seem weird but I think that park solomon (aka. handsome tuo wen shuai) is not the one talking in his scenes.…
Chinese dramas typically do voiceovers to have consistent audio quality (whether it is a different person entirely or it is the same actor, but they are re recording their lines in a sound booth). I haven´t seen the drama but it´s most likely dubbed
