theyre all quite different;
- lu mingshan and yueling were close during their childhoods but he got arrange marriage with liuling. liuling really liked him but he cheated on her with yueling. its one of the reasons why (i feel) liuling is insecure and this aspect can be seen in the drama too. she also doubts shenyan a lot, like in the drama, im not even sure between shenyan or liuling who liked the other party first in the novel.
- liuling also has mental health issues (i havent read that far into it to understand but i think it explains some of her behaviour in the drama) that got brushed off by everyone except shenyan.
- lu mingshan is also described to be a flower boy type of handsome in the novel lol. yueling also disliked him after he went to liuling. yueling is pregnant by her husband (not lu mingshan) and she killed him i think
- liuling and shijin dynamics are really different in the novel (at least up to where ive read). not the close sister bond you see in the drama
hmm im reading the novel and its a pity that the drama removed back story of lu mingshan and liuling. i think her actions in the beginning is more understandable in the novel
anyway im just really happy for bingyan. zyc said this drama means a lot to her and you can tell it really does when she cried on the livestream. hope we get even more and better works from now bingyan <3 she really proved her versatility as an actress. all her roles are different and she pulls them off well, she suits liuling so well.
also all the leads really put in so much effort to promote the show. they had so many 翻牌 (replying fan comments) sessions and even had livestreams, extra promotional material etc. i think the leads replied fan comments every single day. they deserve all the hype and love and i really want to see this pairing together in another drama
ill also miss liuling and shenyan so much. theyre incredibly hilarious and their chemistry is fire!

no but yuan bingyan pulls off liuling so well, you cant see traces of her previous characters in liuling at all. liuling, ajing, shanshan, xuanji: theyre like completely different people and so different from bingyan herself too
