I couldn't agree more with your review. I feel the same with this drama. I didn't love it nor did I hate it. I enjoyed watching it but there was something missing so I gave it an 8. There were a lot of scenes about business transactions so it felt a bit draggy sometimes. I feel like I would've enjoyed this drama a lot more if we got to see the leads talk about things outside of work more often.
I really liked this drama but around episode 12 I got really annoyed because they kept dragging things. Ughh...how come so many good dramas start off great and then they have bad/mediocre endings?
I've noticed that a lot of people don't like the ending. I think the reason why I like watching sageuk is how people can love so deeply without even saying anything. Modern day dramas people are like kissing and making out in order to express their love. I think the ending was perfect because their romance was always subdued but it was obvious that they cherished each other.
I'm having a really bad drama slump guys. After watching Healer, Kill Me Heal Me and It's Okay That's Love, I don't think I can find dramas that match up to these ones. Does anyone have any recommendations?
When I saw Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon as the main actors the first thing came to mind was Oh Ri On yelling SISTERRRR!! to Ri Jin when Yo Na had him pinned to the ground. I can't wait for this =D
After watching a few melodramas, I was so sick of crying and just heavy emotions. This drama was really a breath of fresh air. If you want to watch a drama that will make you smile and laugh, this is it! The couple is super cute and I like how they're not as perfect as other Korean drama couples are. They each have their own flaws but they're also readily forgiving. I really enjoyed the friendship in this drama. I'm definitely going to miss the Ex-Girlfriends and their hangouts =)
I know this is a drama but does it bother anyone else that every movie about the Palace only has envious evil…
I understand what your argument is but at the same time I think for most viewers it's obvious that drama = fiction. A lot of the times they completely twist historical events and sometimes it's annoying but I've gotten used to it. I dropped this drama because everyone is evil and it's just so depressing. A lot of historical dramas have bad characters but there are usually some good characters too. This one is just so messed up and not as good as the first drama.
I'm not just saying this as a fan, but D.O is killing it, god he's such a good actor.
I totally agree. There are so many idols who act horribly but D.O really breaks the stereotype. I loved him in It's Okay, That's Love and it's also one of my favorite dramas of all time =)
This drama had so much potential and yet it began to drag during the last few episodes. It was such a pity! I think 16 episodes would have been perfect. Also, I didn't really like the ending but I guess to each their own.
Wow! This is such a deep and thorough review. Although personally I didn't like season 2 as much as season 1, I really agree with what you said that they learn to embrace each other's flaws. Also, there are barely any dramas out there which show both the chase and what happens after marriage so I think this drama is quite special in that aspect. I think a truly amazing drama is one where we watch the characters grow and we also grow with them. For you, I think it's probably Itazura na Kiss. For me, it was It's Okay, that's love. You should definitely watch it if you have time =)
Wow! This was an awesome post =D
I absolutely love Never Say Goodbye, Ikenai Taiyou, and Zero.
I think Mars is one of my favorite dramas of all time and even though I've watched it a long time ago it has a special place in my heart =)
Thank you for this honest review. I commend you for opening yourself up to the people here on mydramalist and I thank you for telling us about your personal experience. I watched this drama in 2014 a few months after it came out and I completely fell in love with the characters. It was one of those rare dramas where I connected with the characters and almost refused to believe that they were acting, that the whole thing was scripted. It's now April 2015 and still the manifold feelings that this drama gave me lingers and I'm still listening to the OST. Thank you for such a beautiful review and for reminding me that the Internet is not just a place full of nasty comments but it is also a place where we can get to know different people and their unique stories.
