so heres my intake on the whole thing, even though YS was a player he really did love her, we know this because he cried in the aquarium and in the car, i think they both separated because they both were guilty, especially the guy because he's a player. and the girl too was just using him to feel less trapped and lonely. which is why they split up. but tht doesn't mean they didn't love each other, they did. i feel like when he cried at the aquarium and car, he cried cuz he guilty and bc he truly loved her. the scene where he takes her to Scotland i think she was imagining that after the breakup.
