10/10! For me, this is a unique story, and I love the combination of classical music with the plot. A masterpiece, delicate and deep. It took me years to see this, but it proves that something good shouldn’t be left behind.
This is definitely the saddest film about Joseon history that I've ever seen. The neglect of a father and mother can truly ruin an entire life. I'm glad that despite everything, Yi San loved his father all his life and they are together.
Many people gave low ratings on Viki and probably here too because they’re often not used to endings that are different from the usual: realistic and sad endings. Joseon’s time was clearly tragic, especially for a woman — a woman like Jang Ok Jung, who came from humble beginnings and faced prejudices and humiliations that still exist in different forms today.
Women in that era had to give up their desires for men, especially a woman of the king, who had to put him and the nation first. I want to believe in this perspective on JOJ’s life, because nobody really knows how many lies were told back then — and the love and favoritism the king showed her seem genuine to me.
I loved the drama, which I started watching without knowing anything about it just because of Yoo Ah In. I miss him.
How can a complete assessment of the drama be made when it's not even finished? Buzzers.
I don't need to wait until the end to know that, regardless of the ending, I'm very satisfied with the story, the characters, and everything. I may add something to the review later, but it'll still be a 10.
