It was mentioned earlier. Since yi chan's deaf in the end too, He married chung ah and then eun gyeol was born. his grandma was worried sick about eungyeol being deaf. She always made sure eungyeol (as an infant) responded to sound. And when eungyeol could finally talk his grandma died in peace, happily because eungyeol wasn't deaf.
man this season is shit. sun oh loved her and she did too, there was no reason for her to push him away. She should've talked it out with him. Extremely disappointed.
