Well said. I haven't watched this yet, but I think in order to appreciate it as a drama, you definitely need to go in without immediately making comparisons. Though I as well don't like some of the changes they've decided to make, I will reserve my judgments until I have watched the entire thing.

Though honestly, I also hate Near and I dread seeing that character at all.

Eh.. debatable. I think its more like a "its kinda there if you want it to be there, but not really if you aren't into it" thing.

His character seems to have two names though? One korean and one chinese. Maybe his character speaks both languages? Korean living in China, or half.

Kind of, but probably not the kind you're looking for. There's a bit of mush between the detective and his wife, but that's about it.
If you're looking exclusively for romance, this one isn't for you.
If you like good crime dramas, this is one you need to see.

I'm guessing is wife is gone for good then? She was so darn cute though ): that's the only thing I was a little disappointed about. It ended so quickly. I wanted a little more out of the last episode.
But it was still overall a really awesome show, I'm glad I picked it up. So worth waiting for.

I took both of these two as being needlessly aggressive. Lyrical was being aggressive to Fatimah, Fatimah being aggressive in her dislike of the elements in this drama. Like Fatimah was offended by Lyrical, Mask fans could also as easily be offended by Fatimah, which likely was what spawned Lyrical's response in the first place.

It's a circular thing.

In text based language, capital letters and excessive exclamation can be seen as aggression. Someone could be easily offended just by that. I'm not saying you can't have an opinion, I'd just advise you tone it down or someone will come along like Lyrical and get defensive.

The last episode is basically pointless... I don't even understand. Everything that happened between the last two episodes could have just been one episode, with as little as they accomplished between the two. I mean, they spent the entire drama building up this big bad guy (who really was the best character) only to not know what to do with him at the very end. They made a big deal out of how much he works out and takes care of his body, only to be a weak, terrible fighter. The fight scene was just.. bad. Might as well have just had him jump off all on his own.

Oh well. Pretend the last episodes don't exist and you've got a pretty good show.
Time to do the old "make up your own ending and pretend it never happened" bit. haha

Right? They gave us the tiniest glimpses, through speculation. I really wanted more of his background. He had the most potential characterization in the show, and they just decided not to tap into it. ):

okay so.. police are just allowed to shoot unarmed suspects, handcuff them roughly despite injury, load them into ambulances but give them no care, and then cart them off to interrogation (where I'm assuming we missed him being patched up? because he's wearing the same clothes as when he was shot. otherwise it makes no sense).
This is EXACTLY how to get a case under review. I'm pretty sure you can't do that. Certainly not in my country. The rest of 15 was pretty boring.. I mean there was a lot of cute Moo Gak / Cho Rim fluff, but for the second to last episode, nothing happens until the end..
