hey I was about to say it was melo and makjang. It reminds me of the leads in Fashion King (kdrama). The leads here also struggle so hard to get successful and together but obstacles come every time. But this is a 100 times better than Fashion King tho.
I don't understand why she got a lot of hate either- Arimura Kasumi's acting.

I'm like wtf is that?! I read from a blog whose writer strongly critiqued her, saying she has "dead fish eyes".
Also her slight smile can be creepy at times. I can pin point in episode 6, she smiled when she went to see kengo kora after years of not seeing each other. That smile was disingenuous and spooky. I think it's overall just a face that she has.
It's pretty mean to hate her for that. I still don't get why a lot of people dislike her. I personally have nothing against her. She's cute. She's in Nishi's Music video. She is cute there too.

I was about to counter your comment until I watched half way into the movie, and some parts were cringy AF. For instance, the part where the girlfriend said mean things to her in front of her. I cannot / had to laugh at that cringe. But the part with her going to the apartment of the main guy is cool. The painting part is cool. Just not the calling each other bitchy part.
