This drama was a big disappointment for me. It really had potential, but it flopped so badly. FL was so annoying, sometimes acting like she's the wisest person in the world since she lived 19th and sometimes acting really really dumb.
One thing that I also noticed is how the stylist did them dirty for real ☠️ Especially Ahn Bo Hyun. I know oversized outfits are on top, but his were way TOO OVERSIZED. It just looked bad and didn't do him justice, which is a shame.
Another annoying thing was shots of ML rethinking everything at the bottom of the swimming pool. I get it - it was supposed to be aesthetically pleasing and it was... For the first time. Then it became tiring; we don't need multiple the same exact shots, really.
As for the SML - annoying af and a coward. SFL - sometimes her acting was weird but I love her anyway.
As for the plot - there were a lot of plot holes, I don't want to go too deep into that. I didn't read the webtoon but I think it would be interesting if ML turned out to be FL's enemy in her first life. Then, she would have to choose if she wants to be enemies still or lovers. But it's just a thought. Overall, it could have been more complex, but unfortunately a lot of things weren't well thought out.
When Kang Dong Ju appeared, I was so excited! However, his return was simply pointless. I thought he came to win the war with assemblywoman Ko. I thought he behaved the way he did because he had a plan - turns out the situation resolved itself without him doing anything. As a result, Dong Ju was portrayed basically as a villain - too ambitious, not compassionate enough, and extremely unreasonable.
Another point to make, I was getting pissed off with everyone being exactly like Dr Kim. I get it, he's cool, but everyone wanted to be his 1:1 copy. And when Dong Ju suggested to have the same morals/golas as Dr Kim but to be your own person, Woo Jin looked at him like he's insane. I mean ??? Also, I felt like everyone in Doldam would literally die without Dr Kim - they acted like they don't know how to think and breathe unless he tells them how to. Come f on!!!
And don't get me started on Eun Tak and A Reum's lovestory - pathetic to say the least...
I really enjoyed the technical aspect of the surgeries. Nevertheless, I am extremely speechless and disappointed because of how they treated Dong Ju and how sometimes the plot was just absurd. This season is the worst one of all.
The cuts were really weird in this one... Things were happening too fast - I blinked and I felt like I've missed a good 10 minutes of plot.
But, my biggest issue is the main female actress and her facial expressions. Even if things were going her way, she looked so anxious and insecure. Made me feel like I either missed something or misunderstood something.
The plot alone will never be enough to make a drama good and in this case it seems like there's a lot of shortcomings on a technical side. Which is such a pity, cause this drama really had potential to be a strong 9/10.
First 2-3 episodes were really promising, but then... Such a disappointment. At some point, the constant "I have no die." "No, I have to die" between Hwal and Sang Un became extremely tiring. I had to force myself to watch till the end.
I've just rewatched it and it's still great! One thing I'm missing is that when Je Hyuk comes back, Kim Min Chul should've been on the stadium cheering for him as he promised :(
I've never related so much to any review before. You've described my thoughts exactly. Especially the part about the Netflix thing - they tend to make shows that are complete mess. Everything is unrelated and everything is supposed to be so "deep" while in reality it looks like no one even bothered to think this through. They just hoped people will turn a blind eye. I find it very frustrating and kinda offensive as a viewer. I had a really hard time watching it.
