They changed quite a few things from the novel and the editing doesn't help.
For example, their relationship was much more intimate and romantic. They were physically close, and they made a lot of promises to each other. And to protect her because of everything he had gotten himself involved in, he insisted that she leave. After a year, he cut off all contact with her. Then, six years later, she came back determined to push him in every way she could because he's incredibly stubborn. She wanted him to finally make a decision, which is why she's acting the way she is. If there's no future for them, she'll leave and try to forget him once and for all.
I had so many questions while watching the episodes that I ended up reading the novel.. The production's attempt to adapt the story led to a lot of mistakes and plot holes. They changed quite a few things from the book, and the editing doesn't help either because a lot of things aren't explained clearly. Of course you don't like the main character's behavior. Now that I know why she acts the way she does, I understand her actions much better. And i like her.

For me, it was a series that made me cry. It brought back memories from the past, reminded me of mistakes I made, old friendships, and so many emotions. Without wanting to offend anyone, I think that to truly understand this series, someone needs to be older and mature, with a lot of life experience. I just love it.
