Not interesting to me
I watched first episodes, then fast forwarded through the rest and I watched some of the very last.I didnt like the plot and the whole war vibe and yeah honestly portraying special forces as liars and cheaters in private life
I didnt like acting of FL and honestly I dislike acting of ML but in this drama he was not terrible
but it was obvious he was a mismatch for FL
I love the music Mare Mohe is one of my fav songs

I was not a fan at first. I don't love constantly changing environments and shady character development. Honestly this kdrama was kind of a mess when it comes to plot, especially the end.
BUT THE SUPOORTING COUPLE RUINED ME.
AND "EVERYTIM"E IS EVERYTHING TO ME.

Absolutely perfect
This drama is definitely one of our favorites from now on! The story is great, this mix between the military world and the medical world is very interesting, humor and emotion are present throughout, the sets are sublime, the setting and the production are perfect and what to say about the actors..Absolutely perfect !!One of the few series where the viewer's interest is continually stimulated and where there are no dead spots.
We loved the romantic relationship of the two supporting characters, it was so touching and heartbreaking, well done to the cast. We enjoy seeing Kim Ji-Won in a role other than the one she had in The Heirs, a role that reveals her acting talents!
The complicity and the alchemy of the second leads burst the screen..
We liked the fact that they have so much stage and that they are not just in the background. The OST, just sublime, that We keep listening to in a loop.

The second lead romance, you'd think was repetitive, but if you think about how a "soldier's honor" is... it does put allot of weight on the "right decision" and the angst of relationship.
The 16 episodes is just right and I am glad they did continue the story after the volunteering because it wasn't a long term deal so life has to go on.
Plus factor is that Song Joong Ki, is just eye candy and he looked really cool in his army uniform and doing all those action stuff (kinda like Healer).

The main guy is handsome but theres really not a lot going on in this drama. I see some people mention there isn't a lot to SHG's acting and I agree. Some parts I really enjoyed but overall I was not that impressed. It was ok though. Totally overhyped and dragged on at times. I would only recommend to watch if you are bored and need to pass the time. There are better dramas out there.

After watching the last episode I wished there were more. It gives us a glimpse into military life in Korea and also a bit of the political side. The ML is one of my very favorites and he didn’t disappoint. FL was good but her whiny voice and screaming made me hit the mute button numerous times. Their chemistry is good so that made up for the whiny voice. There were two mainlove stories and the support male and female also had good chemistry. There are a couple of scenes that will make you teary. The scenery in the foreign country is beautiful. Overall it is easy watching and now Inhave to find something comparable which will be difficult. Did not give a ten because of background music which I found grating as well as FL whiny voice.Was this review helpful to you?

Well, first time for everything.
Cast is not super attractive, nobody is really hot but they are likeable. Main couple consists of two professionals, a soldier going on "special missions" like rescuing hostages from Taliban, and a doctor doing everything from appearances at ER to complicated surgeries. There is a montage showing them both fighting on their job: him literally, her in surgery room. It looks good budget, standard drama, like from mainstream movies. Then there is a standard rom-com like I imagine is on shows like 'Grey's Anatomy' or 'E.R.'. Though I personally never watched the US shows I just mentioned, overall it oddly feels like this k-drama was made for american audience.
It's not bad, it's just... Meh.
I have absolutely no complaints or criticism to write about this drama, perhaps it would be better if I had... I just truly and honestly feel zero interest in seeing more episodes of it.

I don't understand the hype!!!
I just watched the first episode and already want to drop it. For me if the story has not intrigued me till the end of first episode i can't continue to wait for it to get better. Like it was hell paced means hell fast. The first episode and they started to like one another without any such major interaction. I mean I may be wrong but it's just that I didn't get the vibes for their chemistry.Maybe the story gets better maybe not
But for me it wasn't worth the watch.
I wished i could atleast want to continue second episode but no.. I just wanted it to finish it was boring as hell.
Also I don't get what the high rating is for.
Again if you want to watch some obvious sweet fluffy creepy type storyline,you can go for it.

Um dos aspectos mais interessantes da obra é a forma como aborda o dever e o sacrifício. Os protagonistas são constantemente confrontados com dilemas entre suas responsabilidades profissionais e suas emoções pessoais. O drama reflete sobre o peso das escolhas, especialmente quando envolvem vidas humanas e princípios éticos. Esse conflito central dá profundidade à história e torna as interações mais envolventes.
No entanto, Descendants of the Sun tem falhas que impedem que a experiência seja mais consistente. Um dos problemas é a maneira como os protagonistas são retratados de forma idealizada, especialmente o protagonista masculino, que quase não tem falhas, tornando o personagem menos realista. Além disso, o casal principal, apesar de ter química, muitas vezes acaba sendo ofuscado pelo casal secundário, que possui uma trajetória mais longa e momentos mais emocionantes ao longo da trama. O desenvolvimento da relação deles soa mais natural e envolvente, enquanto o casal protagonista, por vezes, parece ter menos impacto.
Outro problema é o ritmo irregular. A história desacelera demais em certos momentos, alongando conflitos que poderiam ser resolvidos de forma mais dinâmica. Já nas cenas de ação, apesar da boa execução técnica, alguns momentos beiram o exagero, enfraquecendo a tentativa de equilibrar realismo e entretenimento.
O maior tropeço, porém, está na resolução de um dos momentos cruciais da trama: a cena em que os protagonistas supostamente morrem. O modo como o roteiro resolve essa situação é completamente forçado e sem justificativa plausível, quebrando a imersão e comprometendo o impacto emocional da narrativa.
No geral, Descendants of the Sun entrega uma experiência sólida dentro do seu gênero, com uma boa mistura de ação, romance e dilemas morais. No entanto, seu excesso de idealização, a condução problemática de alguns momentos-chave e o ritmo irregular impedem que a obra alcance um nível mais alto de qualidade. Ainda assim, é um drama envolvente, bem produzido e visualmente marcante, mas que poderia ter sido muito mais impactante com um roteiro mais consistente.
