When Suzuki Yori was a child, he swore that he would become a celebrity with his childhood friends Shizuku and Subaru. Later, Yori moved away and became separated from his two childhood friends. He grew up as a plain-looking guy with glasses in the countryside. However, when he found out that Shizuku had become a popular model, and Subaru a popular actor, he transferred to his friends' high school on impulse to also follow his dream. There he met Shizuku again and decided to become her manager to support her behind the scenes. However, when Shizuku was participating in a lingerie photoshoot, he helped her out and entered the entertainment world when he captivated the public as the Mysterious Boy.

In both dramas, the second male lead break up with the female lead, for another woman. They'll learn quickly that when fantasy became true, i'ts one thing to dream but another to live with it.

The premise is quite similar. Get Karl tells the story of a man who wants to get back with his girlfriend so he has a make-over and becomes successful.

It made me think of the situation Ki Tae's mother had to go through and probably many other ahjummas around South Korea. While Sa Geum Ran is at the age where she can still change her life..there are many pitiful women around the world who lost their courage and live in pointless marriages because they're too afraid or have no other opportunities to start anew. With age come the problems..and it becomes harder to let go.

In both series the main lead is an eccentric immature man, both are romantic-comedies that involve a violent woman, both have the main female act all innocent when it comes to relationships.
