Little Forest: Winter & Spring (2015)

The original version of Little Forest that was split into two parts is a great watch. While the Korean version holds my heart I like to watch this version every once in a while as it has the same peaceful feel and really great cooking scenes!

Second part of the Little Forest duology, which has a Korean remake, which also appeared in the recommendations. Just like Summer Strike, Little Forest (Summer/Autumn and Winter/Spring) talks about a young woman who finds herself worn out by life in the city and goes to the countryside to rethink her life.

Both cover a simple lifestyle in the countryside with many cooking scenes and beautiful scenery. It’s a slow pace slice of life kind of soothing content.

Watching one movie remind me of the other movie. Both movies using traditional make from scratch wood burning stove baking. So fresh, so soft,I can smell it…

Both are a slice of life with a small town/countryside setting and focus on food. Both have a similar vibe and tone.

Both main leads left the city life and start anew back to their village. Reconnecting to the people and childhood friends can be seen on both dramas. How the main leads will remember the simple life in countryside.

They both went into very detail about cooking red bean. The art of making a perfect red bean. Tradition, cooking from the raw, very beautiful, soft and gentle illustration.

Both are Japanese productions centered around women who live alone and the food they make. Both have a winter-time setting.

Similar vibe. Both village country side living, lifestyle, self sufficient. It is showing the city people how peaceful the life in countryside. Isolation. All the open spaces.
