I love the realistic hugs (compared to the awkward hugs Kdramas usually have) here and feelings... and how the guy just finally gave in and admitted he loved her with such honesty. The plot was good, but I am not really fond of ghost stuff so that is why I only gave it a 7.5. It kinda gave me the creeps, so I am not re-watching this.

Story: 9/10
I LOVED IT. It was a really unique story and I don’t think I’ve seen something like it before. I mean, maybe there’s a similar one out there but not to my knowledge. For me, as I’ve been watching animes and reading mangas as well, I typically don’t like having fantasy and romance together but this was beyond my expectations. I thought at first it will be a bit like Master’s Sun- a girl sees ghosts and then a ghost bothers her and then somehow, somewhere she’ll fall in love with the Chef but I have been proven wrong. I love how they were consistent with the story. Kim Seulgi was apparently a virgin ghost and has a grudge about it that’s why she can’t ascend to heaven. It wouldn’t be a Korean drama if not for the amazing fate (more like coincidences) that it just so happens that all the main casts have one connection all together- the ghost. The story about finding about the real grudge of the ghost, Bongsun and Chef falling in love, and finding out mysteries from 3 years ago while sticking to the ghost story was so great. I loved how they were very consistent about it. As a person who has seen quite a lot, I tend to look for loopholes in the story but I haven’t seen one in this story-wise. I think I really just have been rambling but I do like the story and it’s very original. The ending was a bit rushed spending one episode revealing everything but I found closure in it. Some people say it was your typical send-to-abroad and then a makeover ending but for me, it was needed. All in all, it was a cute story and I’ll tell more about how I loved the characters in the “character” section.

I wanted to leave a review of this drama straight after finishing episode 16 but, I had to wait a bit for my heart to catch up with my head in order to make this review.

Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk make a great pairing in this romantic/comedy drama. The characters were played almost to perfection. Jo Jung Suk has still yet to fail in comedy roles, for me. I was unfamiliar with Kim Seul Gi before this drama but she played Soon Ae really well.
Honourable mention for Im Joo Hwan who played a cracking part as evil spirit copper Officer Choi. Whoa his acting was superb.

The drama on a whole was very good. Waiting week on week for the next two episodes was excruciating at times but now that it's finished, i can imagine those that haven't seen it, will benefit from marathon-ing it.

For me though there was just something lacking ... it was definitely not the romance or the comedy. the story was a bit far fetched in places and sometimes the story moved too fast.

Loved the music.

All in all a really great drama for 2015. Well worth a watch and even better if you can marathon it. I may in time watch it again.

Just beautiful, i loved everything from beginning to end mainly because i love the main actor jo jung suk. I first saw him in the king2hearts and i was inlove. Hes one of the best actors, u can feel his emotions through the screen. Park bo young on the other did an awesome job playing two parts.
The whole cast and crew just played their parts well even the ghosts and the evil guy
The ost eyes by jay park just became my favorite
Must see 10s across the board

Wow... This drama was amazing~!! I loved it so much~!! From beginning to end to just couldn't stop watching~ At around episode 15 I was a bit sceptical of how the ending would turn out, but once I'd actually finished it I was so happy with it~~ From the creative storyline to the perfect acting, this drama really is worth watching~ ^^

Good acting but a very poor plot

I found the drama, and esp. the ending disappointing. I think the writers patched up Chef's relationship with Bong Sun. I hated that in the end Bong Sun turned into Soon Ae. The high pitched voice was awful and made her seem as fake as the ghost when she was trying to seduce the Chef. Bong Sun lost her own personality and warmth that we've seen in the beginning of the series. Even though the Chef cares for Bong Sun from the start and finds out that she's the author of his fav blog, he never does anything to actually get to know her. With Soon Ae he knew all her likes and dislikes, he planned to take her out to every single place she wanted to go. We had several episodes of their dating even though plot-wise 20 minutes would be enough. Alas, he never asks Bong Sun what she likes. Actually, he never takes her out to a date once she tells him about the ghost girl. He tells her he always liked her but he fell for the ghost, and that's the end of their talking about their relationship. It's like he doesn't really care about Bong Sun, and stays with her because it's the only viable option, while she's so desperate to be loved by him that she turns into Soon Ae, because she knows she's his second choice. Moreover, watching the series I really didn't expect it'd come to that. Bong Sun is an introvert, but her personality seems more interesting and mysterious than that of the outgoing Soon Ae, who has nothing interesting going for herself except for lumps of confidence. I really hoped the Chef, who himself used to be a timid boy in his youth, would be willing to do the work and get to know the real Bong Sun. Sadly, that's not what's happening. The ending was sad and disappointing. I'm going to rate it 4/10.

Oh, and to be sure. His relationship with Soon Ae sucked even more because it was fake from the start to the end. It was based on lies and deception. Soon Ae pretended to be someone she wasn't just to get laid. And even if she developed feelings for him in the process, she never really showed to him her real self. We've watched the series so we know that the ghost girl with blond hair and the ghost girl with brown hair were two different personalities. Unlike Bong Sun the ghost girl repeatedly lied to the Chef without a blink of an eye. She didn't care for the consequences because she was going to leave anyway. The ghost girl the Chef dated was just a fiction. It was a very poor choice to show us so much of the fake relationship and so little of the real one.

Such a great drama I've ever seen... If you are reading my review then I'll strongly recommend you start watching it immediately... It has such a unique plot and Park Bo Young carried the acting well enough... She was just superb in her acting of a girl with different personalities in different times... The ghost was too cute... If all ghosts were that cute, I would've never been scared of any ghosts... 😁 And also I loved the plot of how a ghost changed the whole life of a girl. I wish if I could meet that kind of ghosts too... Lol...

Now coming to the actings...There was no overacting at all..Each and everyone in the whole team played well. Also, the fact that they were been able to see the girl who acted as the ghost in real life but, acting as not able to see her was great. I loved all the chef's acting very much. Especially the sous chef was so charming in his talking and he always cared for Bong Seon like he was her brother.

Oh! By the way. When I started watching this drama I was just so startled to hear the name Na Bong Seon again as it reminded me of Do Bong Soon from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. And also I've become a big fan of Park Bo Young's acting after that drama.

So that's all about my review..If you are reading this then again I'll tell you to watch this drama even if you don't believe in fantasies. And lastly, remember:
YOU ARE LOVELY
I AM LOVELY &
THIS DRAMA IS LOVELY
LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY..💜

Such a cute heartwarming romcom

This show took me a few episodes to really get into, first and second halves have drastically different vibes but I thought the script is original, fun and engaging throughout. I couldn't wait to watch the next episode.

I'm not the biggest fan of the casting for Ghost, and FL is playing this hard to watch weak character that makes it so hard to like her. But that's the point.

But I loved it, I think it's my favourite romcom so far.

I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a fun, emotional, engaging romantic drama to watch.

11/10 - A MUST WATCH!

If you are unsure whether or not to watch this drama, I highly recommend it. Not going to lie, full disclosure: I biasedly went into this drama because of my LOVE for Jo Jung-suk and I was not disappointed at all. Not even for one minute.

The storyline is will make you laugh and cry. It's funny and romantic and sweet. The love story between the leads is just perfection. Their chemistry, their banter...unmatched! And of course my favourite part is how Sun-woo "tries" to fight off Bong-sun's flirty advances but you can clearly see that he still totally loves the attention (the little smirk/smiles he makes whenever she is throwing herself at him or wrapping herself around him)

Whenever Bong-sun was possessed by Soon-Ae I was in stitches from laughing so much. It honestly made me love Park Bo-young because her acting ability is just phenomenal (just look at the difference in Bong-sun's personality and mannerisms whenever she is possessed by Soon-Ae and when she is not)

The show had everything: comedy, romance, family bonding, heartbreak, life lessons and a satisfying ending.

If you loved Hi Bye Mama, Mystic Pop-Up Bar, The Uncanny Counter and Hotel De Luna, you will love this show. It is one of my favourite comfort dramas and I will never get tired of rewatching it. 11/10 - A MUST WATCH!

'Oh My Ghostess' - a 2015 South Korean TV series of 16 episodes and 1,000 heart melts.

You know how there are some dramas where you don't expect it to be irresistible because the lead actor is not your typical almond-eyed, big hands, tall and hunky dude? Hence, you don't think that you'll be tempted to finish the drama at all. That was what I expected out of this paranormal dramedy. However, second episode onwards (we all know the first episode of most k-dramas are a drag), I was pleasantly surprised when the credits rolled and I was still staring at my screen with a slight smile, waiting for the countdown to end and the next episode to start playing on Netflix.

*Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead*

The lead actress (Na Bong-Sun played by Park Bo-Young) is positively adorable! I had already watched her in Strong Girl Bong-Soon before so I was familiar with her "tiny bean" self but I am not exaggerating when I say, her character is much more likeable in this show. She plays a timid and unconfident assistant cook in the restaurant of a head chef, who she has always been secretly interested in. A virgin ghost possesses her body, who has a completely contrasting character to Na Bong-Sun, and manages to gain the chef's attention gradually - although, it is debatable which version of Na Bong-Sun finally wins his heart. This show encompasses a major character development for her that feels very heartwarming to experience as a viewer.

The male lead Kang Sun-Woo is played by Jo Jung-Suk, who I had earlier seen as a special appearance role in Legend of the Blue Sea as the main female character's fake mermaid boyfriend. Here, he portrays a narcissistic chef and restaurant owner that turns out to be the perfect ratio of jealous:concerned boyfriend.

Personal Experience: I started the first episode at 9:00 PM on Friday night and watched 10 episodes non-stop, with only water and toilet breaks, till 7:30 AM on Saturday morning. Repeated the same the next night and completed all 16 episodes by 3:45 AM on Sunday. I may have overdone it, but do not underestimate the number of butterflies you will experience in your stomach when you watch it.

Goes without saying, that while the love story is blooming, there is an evil ghost spirit murder mystery scenario developing parallelly, which was actually not as interesting as I'd like it to be. But, no pain; no gain I guess.

Special mention to Jun (A.K.A Cordon) in the show who acts like Na Bong-Sun's understated best friend that is always looking out for her. It helps that he is quite an eye-candy too.

Recommended to:
-Strong Girl Bong-Soon/Legend of The Blue Sea lovers
-Beginner K-drama watchers
-People that are prepared to Youtube search "Oh My Ghostess best scenes", "Oh My Ghostess bts" and "Oh my Ghostess interviews eng sub" to help you get through the post-show blues

Fun Fact: Park Bo-Young had her first onscreen kiss on this show, but you'll probably find this out (and more!) when you're urged to begin your research upon finishing the show.

Closing comments: Watch this if you are missing your boyfriend and definitely if you do not have a boyfriend. Watch this if you're in a k-drama slump and need a pick-me-up. Watch it if you're easily amused by hyperactive but cute flirting and possessive boys that act like guardian angels.

Just watch it, and thank me later.

One of the main factors that make it a good show to watch is its unique storyline. The drama combines elements of romance, comedy, and supernatural themes, creating a captivating and entertaining plot that keeps viewers hooked from the very beginning. As you watch, you can't help but become emotionally invested in the characters' journeys, making the drama a more engaging and enjoyable experience.

One of 2015`s best drama.

One of my all time favorite drama. It`s that good. Incorporating food and fiction, just the right amount of drama, comedy, thriller and romance. It`s a lot but perfectly well balanced. Jung-seok is already one my favorite male korean actors, this drama also made me a fan of Bo-Young. Her character in here is really well made and she gave justice to it being given different personality. She`s so cute I adore her. She and Jung-seok have chemistry together despite how their characters were made. Not to mention, Seulgi also did a good job for her character. I just remember watching this drama thinking I would watch it 4 episode a day and ended up watching it in one sitting. lmao.
