is this frequently seen in Chinese dramas?

It's going into a tragic direction, although they manage to lighten up the mood with funny scenes or characters once in a while so the drama doesn't feel "heavy" at all.

I haven't watched a lot yet, but none of the Japanese or Korean dramas so far were in any way similar.

How do you like this drama?


I feel* very bad for the 2 leads and also the Xue daughter. How can he not tell them what's going on? I don't think that's fair to the girl he's going to marry, I really feel sad for her.
