This episode explored the theme of what it meant to be a doctor. Weetae offered free medical care for the patients and is a doctor who genuinely cared for the patients. Doji, on the other hand, seemed to care more for his examination than the patients.

This episode explored the theme of gender inequality. Yejin is capable enough to be a doctor yet cannot put what she knew into practice because Doji refused to let her do so on account that she is a woman.

This episode explored the theme of class inequity. The noblemen wanted Doji, although he came first, to let them have his room simply because he is not a nobleman but a commoner. Later on, while sharing his room, they made fun of him for not knowing their area of study.
