Review of episode 6

This episode explored the theme of politics, when it gets ugly. Doji should have passed the examination but he failed because the subordinates of Yesu thought Yesu bore a grudge against Doji's father Weetae and in their attempt to please Yesu, failed him. This is politics when it gets ugly, trying to curry-favor a superior at the expense of being fair to the examinee.

This episode explored the transformation of people. Weetae used to be like Doji, seeking after fame and reputation. Weetae even went to the extend of challenging Yesu to a duel. But now he changed into a doctor who no longer cared for fame or reputation but only seek after the well-being of the patient.

This episode explored the theme of standing up to superior when they were in the wrong. Doji did not want to go home because he was upset that he failed the examination and indulged in wine. Hur June stood up to Doji even though Doji was his superior and forced him to go home.

This episode explored the theme of being a dedicated doctor. Yejin might be a woman but she took dedicated care of Dahee and really looked after her wellbeing. That was what a doctor should be.
