Both have to do with human trafficking/crimes. They are also quite dark and give off the same kind of vibes throughout. Main characters are very similar as well.

Extracurricular is of a higher caliber by far, but you won’t be disappointed by either of them!

The male lead is quite similar to Yoo Jung, both present themselves as friendly and are popular and respected by their peers. However, they both carry this lingering dark vibe, to the point where it makes you feel somewhat uneasy as a watcher.

Darkness is similar, but no doubts about the connection between the two main characters. Crime lords, drug trafficking, a enemies become more, it's a must see. A really great film.

Both of these movies are bat shit CRAZY at times. They also include characters that are so mad in love with the main protagonist that they go to crazy lengths. Its also left to own interpretation if it was one sided or requited

Both films show a lonely/shy dude making friends with the popular guy in school. He is then subjected to jealousy from the popular guy's groupees.
