Good actors, poor everything else

This is another case of the Chinese actor being abused, forced to acting inside a terrible script and likewise directing .
Up to episode 30 or so there was still some action, but after that both scriptwriter and director gave up.
So, instead of action, we get repetitive scenes of one main character after a another speaking to themselves or their helpers, at best, describing action, instead of inacting it.
We also get some beautiful sound tracks, that are used and abused on full blast in each and every episode so that actors voices are almost always covered up.
Then you have the complete nonsense of characters having a conversation in one set and then continue it in another set, or even a different season. You know, the kind of different one cannot escape from noticing, since the dialogue starts in sunny, golden fall and ends, a few lines down the road, in bitter snowy winter.
You know the kiss of death came to the scriptwriter when he or she uses and abuses the "by the way" introduction of dialogue.
That came about by the same time with the other signs that imagination and professionalism were slowly dying.
Anyway, the real history seems far more interesting than the made up plot of two women obsessed with killing the third, as their perceived rival .

This drama is actually very good

Its not what I was expecting to see but I enjoyed it quite fairly...it is definitely it's own love novel journey...I mean I don't accept what Weiyoung has done when she finally fell in love with Jun Gaoyang but I love love stories when couples are loving still I was happy to see it finally functioned but in conscientious mind she shouldn't have even though the original Weiyoung died and the actual one is just a replacement and she hate the entire Wei empire

101 ways to blame Princess Wei Young for 50+ episodes

Dont get fooled by 8+ ratings
it deservesmd 1.5 ratings just for the actors in my opinion
This series was so ridiculous thats i had to write a review to rant
I endured watching till 30 just for the sake of it, mostly fast forwarding beyond that it was too much
I pity the actors but atleast they got acting experience and got paid for it
There is no great story only revenge seeking princess changes her identity and gets targetted by everyone
Every other character gets a chance to blame the FL who just allows getting framed then by plot armour gets saved every single time , Even some foreign country princess gets a chance to blame her
If it was allowed, she might have been blamed for SOMEONE PASSING GAS TOO
Romance was just bs 🙄 and leads might have been together for just 30 mins ( couple of hugs and a peck, stares here and there) and in all of 54 episodes
And as usual this cant even hv a HE for all the nonsense viewers endure
Special mention: someone got inspired by the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE mask and it is used more than a couple of times to murder or attempt to murder or frame the FL
Well watch if you like MAKJANG type series and need a manual for 101 ways to frame/ blame someone

It started off well and then it fell flat.

Started off well enough. However, the storyline of revenge, framing then eventual redemption got old.....quickly. Villains are too one dimensional and these gorgeous actresses being obsessed with mediocre men was just not realistic enough for me (even if it does tend to happen in reality). The wigs/frontals were a constant distraction but I could ignore it if the story wasnt so bland towards the middle. The heroes are unfortunately loveable but not loveable enough for a 54 episode drama. Lets not get started on the overacting by the side characters.....its giving telenovela.

I like the male and female lead so I wanted to love this plus I am suffering a cdrama drought at the moment. Unfortunately, this would have been better suited for a 30 episode run not over 50 episodes. Furthermore for the heavy content its displaying, the video colour grading is far too bright which "cheapens" the drama despite the expensive costuming and sets.

Luo Jin ate this role UP

Started to lose the plot about 40 eps in. By the last three, it had gone so rogue that I doubt even a gps could’ve gotten it back on track. You can tell the actors noticed the incremental loss of direction by their performances. They gave it their best effort, but it was all borderline comical by the end.
Big sad.
At least we got ~40 episodes of quality content and a passably impactful finale.

Who wants to frame weiyoung:YES

I have been watching Asian dramas for quite some time and this is one of the dramas that broke me but also the first drama I have sat down and wrote a review about. The story distracted me from how long ago this came out and the acting did it for me especially when they never gave up on their relationship.i have to say that the last few episodes did feel rushed because the emperor died then when prince gaoyang was about to inherit prince nan'an forcefully became the emperor and forced weiyoung to be his empress, and he even to the extent of dieing for her in the end.Changru killing herself to be with prince nan'an was unexpected,I thought she would live for him and their "child" but did the child even exist?I wish weiyoung had split the pill or begged hong lou to try and find the recipe or li changle shouldn't have wished them to never be together for long in this life but I guess that was their destiny.54 episodes were not enough to for all those incidents like how can than many people die and get hurt just because of the tittle of "The Emperor of Wei". I shouldn't be pouring this much emotion into a series but what can I say this series broke me to pieces,as I write l am in tears telling myself it's just a series Atleast they got to be together in this modern lifetime,(Li weiyoung)Xin'er and Touba Jun till we meet again.

54 episodes
1 week of watching
countless giggles and heartbreaks
start date 24 may
finish date 30 may
1 year from this date I will experience the joys and sorrows of "The Princess Weiyoung"

Great movie

I loved the story and the actors. I loved the fact that the main two characters and together in real life !!! The main actrice is so beautiful as well as the two main male characters! Even if it is an imaginative story, it still is fun and great to watch. Also the music from the movie and soundtrack is great. I enjoyed every episode so much! The chemistry between Tang Yan and Lou Jin is amazing and also the other love stories and so beautiful. The fights are just like in stories for kids but other aspects of the story is valid no matter of the time scale. It is a very well don movie indeed

The best drama of Tang Yang and Lou Jin!

**The Rise of Lady Weiyong**

Lady Weiyong, a brilliant and benevolent figure, emerged from the shadows of tragedy after her family was unjustly executed, framed for a rebellion they did not commit. Driven by a fierce desire for justice, she navigated the treacherous waters of the imperial court, using her intelligence and resourcefulness to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy. With each case she took on, Lady Weiyong not only sought to clear her family's name but also to bring justice to those wronged by the corrupt powers that be.

Amidst her quest for justice, Lady Weiyong found herself drawn to the enigmatic Touba Jun, a prince known for his charm and unwavering sense of honor. Their relationship blossomed in the court's hidden corners, where whispered conversations turned into heartfelt confessions. Touba Jun recognized her exceptional qualities—her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering resolve—and saw in her the ideal candidate for empress. Together, they envisioned a future where integrity and justice reigned over tyranny.

As their bond deepened, Lady Weiyong became not only a confidante to Touba Jun but also a formidable ally in his aspirations for the throne. Her intelligence and benevolence made her a beacon of hope for the people, and with Touba Jun by her side, they dreamed of restoring peace and prosperity to the realm. In a world fraught with danger and deception, their love became a powerful force, uniting their destinies as they fought for a brighter future.

A touching and well acted story

I'm a sucker for these extravagant, powerful, touching historical dramas. I would rank Princess Weiyoung high up along with Ashes of Love. The series was engaging and interesting and can easily be watched repeatedly.
The acting is superb in Princess Weiyoung. From the two main leads to the secondary characters and even the smaller characters in between. I'm really impressed with the ML and FL and read online that they're married in real life. How fun!!!
Princess Weiyoung is a dynamic story of history, war, love, tragedy, enemies, friendship, and a whole lot of court drama. The clever plotlines of the enemies particularly the two Princes, made this story so much fun.
Overall, Princess Weiyoung is a clever and well written story. The acting is phenomenal, you can't help but root for the two leads, but also feel a connection with the others.
The Prince Na'an did a splendid job. He was a cold and emotionally disconnected person. But also a bit ambiguous in nature. I couldn't help but feel bad for him due to his abusive childhood which caused so much PTSD. Therefore i think that was why he was the way he was.
A somewhat tragic ending but at least the ML and FL had some happy years together.

Smart Female Lead

This drama had me hooked from the very start- the scheming, the palace politics, the revenge plots… so good. I love how sharp and clever the story is. It’s one of those dramas where you’re constantly watching people try to outmaneuver each other, and the pacing keeps it engaging the whole way through.

The female lead, Li Weiyoung (played by Tiffany Tang), is such a force. She’s quick-witted, strategic, and composed, and watching her go head-to-head with all the villains is ridiculously satisfying. Tiffany Tang brought so much intelligence and grace to the role- you want to root for her from the very beginning.

I also have to say, the chemistry between her and the male lead (Luo Jin) was surprisingly strong. Their dynamic felt genuine, and it balanced out the heavier revenge and court intrigue elements really nicely. The OST fit the drama perfectly too- dramatic and emotional in just the right moments.

Yes, it’s dramatic (as palace dramas always are), but it never felt messy or dragged out. Everything builds steadily, and watching Li Weiyoung turn every scheme back on her enemies was so satisfying. I've rewatched it several times and enjoyed it each time.
