A cute and funny movie
I wasn't sure if i wanted to watch a movie from 2016 as i have so many drama/movies to watch, but i fell in love with the title. The storyline reminded me of Best mistake a korean drama that i really liked and upon looking at the cast i am a fan of yosuke sugino and Yamazaki Kento. It was a storyline that could relate to HS students and the pressures felt in trying to fit in a group rather than be lonely. Erika was that girl and wanted to be part of the conversation instead of just listening to her friends talk about dating and sexual activity that have happened. So she has been pretending to have a boyfriend and involved in a rasey relationship and they want to see a picture and so she takes a few randon photos of this cute guy. As she nervous to show them they all agree that he looks like a model, but familiar until someone says hes Sata Kyoya and goes to there school. Now the fun begins as she has to ask him to be her BF and so he agree, but she has to be his dog and answer when he call and fetch what he wants. So now the so called fun begins as he doesn't believe in love and such and she try teaching him in her own way. Its a cute and fun movie to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
From Page to Screen: Disappointing Live Action
From manga to screen, "Wolf Girl and Black Prince" undergoes a transformation that may leave fans of the original manga with mixed feelings. Kento Yamazaki delivers a compelling portrayal of Kyōya Sata, capturing the enigmatic and sometimes sadistic nature of his character with precision. His performance stands out as one of the film's strengths, showcasing his ability to embody complex manga characters on screen.Opposite Yamazaki, Fumi Nikaidō brings Erika Shinohara to life with charm and authenticity. Their chemistry is perfect, synchronized, and fully replicate the depth seen in the manga's depiction of their relationship. The film's cinematography and direction often fall short, particularly in pivotal emotional scenes where the camera work fails to enhance the narrative's impact.
Despite its shortcomings, "Wolf Girl and Black Prince" offers moments of genuine emotion, notably when Erika splashes water onto Sata's face—a scene that encapsulates their tumultuous dynamic.
While fans of the manga may appreciate seeing their favorite characters on screen, the adaptation ultimately struggles to capture the depth and nuance of its source material.

Anime is way better
As much as the show had its own charm, the anime just hits different. There’s a depth in the anime that the live-action couldn’t fully capture — whether it’s the way emotions are expressed, the visual storytelling, or those quiet moments that say so much without a single word. The pacing, the atmosphere, even the smallest details feel more intentional and immersive. The animation gives it a unique magic — there are scenes that feel almost dreamlike, and the characters’ emotions come across with such intensity, you feel every second. The voice acting alone adds a whole other layer of meaning, and the background scores? Absolutely soul-stirring.
Some things are just better felt than explained — and the anime brings that emotional weight, those subtle cues, and those unforgettable moments in a way that stays with you long after you finish it. It’s not just better — it’s something else entirely.

Over all though, if you take it out of context it's an ok romance to watch on an afternoon if you go into it not knowing anything about the anime or manga.
Also, I don't remember the soundtrack so what doe that say about the movie or me? I wonder!

Ugliest FL in history
Okay!! ladies and gentlemen we are up for a long review here, so brace yourselves good ...Disclaimer : before you call me racist for using the word ugly ..let me tell you .. I don't care... I speak my mind out and try to support it with enough reason. Anyways I am not here for moral correctness ..
So let's begin
I have already read this manga and watched the anime numerous times as this is one of the most popular shoujo work out there. If I tell you about the plot .. of course movie adaptations are never as good as the real work . . Movie versions have lesser depth ..the substance is often missing and you have to compromise a big time of the overall spirit of the story .. and this is pretty much the deal in this case as well. The story itself is too inclined towards japanese culture extremes I mean I don't know what they get out of showcasing such lame Female lead characters.. most manga and anime have the same deal that is FL's world revolving around ML... SO BORING ...
Let's talk about the cast .. kento is good as ML I can't say this act has even half his real potential ..but what can he possibly do when his co actor is so pathetic . I mean seriously this is my first time watching an actress who has no looks and absolutely no acting talent at the same time she is playing lead... Wow!!! Firstly the character itself is so lame... Like Erika this 'I don't have fuck-to-do with life' high schooler has no future goals .. she needs to get a bf at any cost ASAP..why ?? Cause her friends talk about BDSM ... She is in high school but she has no exam worries ..she hardly opens her books .... her absolute focus in life is to become a bitch to this caramel hair coloured boy from another section .... DON'T KID ME she gets rejected by the boy (there wasn't any reason to accept her in the first place) and how she wins him back ... By crying .. yes . Crying with an ugly as F face .. I mean if crying can win me a decent man .. I would've cried an ocean to win Tom cruise.... Honestly I pity japanese people how come they tolerate such nonsense. My Korean fellas do way better than this.anyway Let's continue..
As if the character itself wasn't lustreless enough that they cast this horrible actress to play it .. seriously what's the deal with her???she has such flat as a cardboard 2D face, she looked ugly when she cried , uglier when she smiled. Even the climax was a disaster (go watch 1:48:00 to 1:50:00 and you will know) i was like somebody just take her face away from my screen please .....totally third class acting and fourth class dialogue delivery and unnecessary pauses and nodding ..... even the side actresses did a better job than this retard .. absolute crap ... Her limited talent is the reason why she can't establish a good chemistry with the ML. Such a shitty performance.
I don't know what else to say .. if you are a fan of this story better watch the anime or read the manga at least you will be provided with some story build up ...as far as this movie is concerned..sorry I can't recommend this crap ..

Movie start with good story line ,entry of lead actor is ok then he turn out to be her school mate that's also interesting then he take her granted is also ok but afterwords story is like director unecessary stretch the story.when she taking care of him at that time I thought he started generating feeling for her and eventually she feels some emotions but nothing happened like this , then he grabbed her hand to stop her only that movement she felt something and this make her to fall for him ,this angle is liitle unromantic instead of this mr.director shows some feelings when she taking care of him. Then she realised that she fall for him and confess him but still he taken her for granted and then she decided to move on so he realised something and reach to her and said to her you are mine ,kiss her and movie end . When love story start movie end ...as a whole it is good movie but I am not emotionally connected with it... They should show some more scene when their love story start.littke upset with end ..
