Light Hearted, Comedy drama with a simple storyline

It's a simple hate turns into love story, pretty much predictable but has a lot of comedy and shows how popularity is not always good. I watched it for Chanyeol but liked the movie overall. Chanyeol's acting was great, he portrayed all the required emotions nicely. Many people are commenting about the actress' acting but it was also good. She was annoying in the beginning but had a good character growth later on. Also her chemistry with Chanyeol was nice. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a light hearted movie with humour and without any complexity.

Though the title does suggest something completely different happens, the movie overall is really light hearted and fun. It was a good watch to cheer me up right before exams. The story was great, though I do think that they could have added a bit more to the movie as it did seem a little bit rushed. The acting was okay, not the best, but it did seem like the two main leads had fun when making the film and that did translate into the on screen performance as well. The music didn't really stand out much, the only song I really noticed was the slow ballad towards the end, though it was a very nice song. Honestly, I would rewatch this again, it does provide a good laugh in a short amount of time with a touch of a good romance story.

Fun Fluffy Watch

So I Married an Anti-fan
Chinese Movie
2016
Amazon Prime & Viki

A kpop star and his anti fan both get stuck filming a show tilted So Married an Anti Fan.

If you want a fluffy over the top rom com I would recommend this movie. This one was originally a webtoon and later turned into this movie and currently a Korean drama. Yes I'm watching it and it's a popcorn show! Review coming when it ends this month, it's currently airing.

Now while watching the movie I noticed the male leads singing voice sounded familiar. Well Chanyeol is a singer and part of a Korean pop and Chinese pop group called EXO. They just realsesd their comeback album today and it'sso good!

He also sings some of my favorite songs. I have all three on replay while driving, cleaning, walking you name it!

♡Yours by Chanyeol & Raiden
(Remix is great too)
♡Stay With Me by Chanyeol & Punch
♡Don't Fight The Feeling by EXO
(Came out today, last slide is part of the MV)

Just okay

Watched this because of EXO's chanyeol.
The FL character's overacting, she's acting barbaric and overly hot-headed.. even when she started as an anti-fan, she's somewhat irritating.. maybe it's the concept afterall.. So the story is somewhat interesting.

The reason to which she started to be an anti-fan was unreasonable,..it's her fault anyway, even with losing her job.

As expected, I only watched it for Chanyeol. Plot was bad and predictable. Also, it was so obvious that Chanyeol was not speaking Chinese in real-time, they could have done better with that.

I did not like the female lead at all just because of the character's personality, but her acting was actually quite good. Chanyeol did better than he did in Exo next door so it's good to see some improvement. It's always nice to see him doing something on his own, I'm tempted to watch Missing 9 to see if he's improved.

I liked how vivid the colours in the movie were.

The OST is not too bad too, I guess.

Good story but failed to deliver its max potential

The overall feel of this story is really good. It has a strong start ..cast is also good .. there were interesting mini plots to keep the momentum of the plot ( bondage prank, riding to his interview scene , etc ) but still for various reasons even 1 hour 39 min felt too long ...
1) mini plots weren't arranged properly. For example you watch a scene, you think okay there is a development in their relationship but in the next scene she is literally beaten by his fans and he doesn't care. Then again after few minutes similar thing happens .. I was so confused like is this how feeling work ???

2) though it's not related to story ..but the subtitles suck ... This was actually the main reason why I could not enjoy it to the fullest.

3) fatigue : so many cliches and repeat jokes ... In the end no matter how good the sketch is ..if the painting it not colour enough you won't like it.

That's all. No hate to the movie but it just didn't work for me ..may be If i watch it again after sometime.. I might like it ..

If you love stories with tropes of enemies to lovers this is a movie that is good for a watch to be enetertained for a while. I say a while because it goes by very quickly, it's quite short. When it comes to the story is quite predictable, but these sort of films there's not much to ask for. The main character though is a bit annoying at the start, but I guess is intetional to shkw her character development through the movie. While the main male chatacter played by Chanyeol is just like every single male character that is a rich idol, he does look good though. Overall is entertaining enough to give it a watch.

Never saw a marriage in there?

Summary: This would have been a great concept as cultural/language crossover romcom but it missed the mark in some ways. I found the storyline a bit exaggerated and annoying in the beginning with foolish yet unfunny characters who seriously lacked boundaries. The ending was sweet but also seemed a bit rushed, wish there was more build-up that led to their romance. Also, where’s the marriage in the movie like the namesake states? I realized at the end it was an actual movie and not a show, which was nice not have to keep starting a new episode. It’s an easy watch but the some of the plot development seemed disjointed to me.

Details: The beginning scene setting seemed a bit over-processed, showing the female lead to be incompetent at her job. I was disappointed at the way the filmmakers wrote her: an aggressive, overdramatic, and impulsive nuisance. Even though this is common character behavior for females in many Chinese dramas, I still tǎoyàn zhège. I didn’t think it was funny seeing her make a fool of herself in multiple scenes, which is what led to her downfall in the first place. Her plan for revenge (via online bullying) made me super sad thinking about how that stuff has led people toward taking their own lives in real life.

I do like that Fang Miao Miao wasn’t a pushover and had some fighting skills (able to subdue a grown man with one punch) but was so immature at the same time, blaming everyone else and not taking responsibility for her own actions which led to her getting fired, beaten by Hou Zhan’s fans, losing her housing, etc. She could have just taken a regular office job to get to her goal of becoming a novelist, like most normal people do, but for some reason was holding on to that toxic workplace. On the other hand, Hou Zhan had some anger/trust issues and was super mean to the Fang Miao Miao, even egging her on at times and nearly putting her life in danger (crowd stampede). When they started getting close, I didn’t understand why Fang Miao Miao would still consider betraying him. Also, I didn’t understand why she went back to the workplace that betrayed her in the first place, which also led to a huge misunderstanding.

Side Notes:
- Something that is pet peeve of mine is people wearing glasses without lenses in them. C’mon people! At least make it look real (you can make it prescription free)!
- How does Fang Miao Miao not know Korean in some scenes then suddenly understand it in other scenes? Wish writers double-checked their story development.
- Why would Fang Miao Miao just leave her laptop lying around? Don’t most writers take their laptops everywhere with them?

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

Not an outstanding movie, but quite entertaining (^_^)

I love the idea of idol working with his anti-fan. The growth of their feeling and relationship is not clearly visible, but understandable. Too bad that the title and the story not in line. At first I thought that they will be married first and story goes on, but it turns out that there's no marriage (^_^;)

But despite of that, this movie provide a lot of laugh too, for example is the incident with the handcuff (^o^) That scene is really mind catching (^o^)

This is a cute show. It's not a heavy show. It's not a terribly dramatic show. It's cute. It's fun. It's fluff. If you go into it with that in mind, I think you will really enjoy it.

The female lead character is a bit annoying at times, but once the two leads start to actually talk to each other, they are just fun to watch. Personally, I thought Park Chan Yeol did a great job in the male lead role. He's a bit stiff at times, but the character is supposed to be that way, so it fit. Besides Mabel Yuan's character as the female lead is a bit of a "bounce off the walls" type character, so they sort of balance each other out.

The music in this show really didn't phase me one way or another, so in my book that means it fit well, but it didn't have a song that stuck in my head or really moved me.

If you are looking for an easy watch that is just fun and refreshing...this might indeed be just the right choice.

Oh goodness! I can't even explain how much I liked this movie! Mostly because of Chan Yeol and Yuan Shan Shan's acting; Chan Yeol surprised me, he's pretty good at acting. Not to mention the fact that Chan Yeol is uber adorable and I thought the leading actress wouldn't be of any interest; however, I found her acting and looks just as cute and charming as Chan Yeol.

For those people who like a fresh and new story concepts, I'm sad to say you won't find that here. But! I personally think the way the actors interacted was pretty sweet and in a way "fresh". Then again, I am absolutely a fan of the cliché "Cinderella" stories and love/hate relationships. I don't know why, but for me, you can either make the cliché story your own or you can majorly fail.

I personally think that these two made it loveable and absolutely adorable! (The handcuff bit made me laugh so hard!)

All in all, I liked the movie for what it was: Light-hearted.
It's a great movie for anyone who has a little time before bed on a weekday night to unwind, have a couple of laughs at the cute and cliché couple and go to bed with a fluffy feeling inside.

I personally have a saying with food that I love to apply to movies as well: Don't knock it 'till you try it; loose the expectations, and experience it as it unfolds.

Hmm... I'm not sure of how to rate this movie. The story is so so so so so weird. It's obviously directed to EXO's fans, since Chanyeol has the main role. The characters weren't that likeable, the story was strange and unrealistic (a tv show????? with an anti fan?????? and he did he marry her at the end???? what???), the fashion wasn't good, the music wasn't outstanding... idk man. It wasn't the worst I've ever watched but still... it's pretty bad. But Chanyeol is a whole sunshine so I'm giving it 6.5 stars ^.^

Weirdest review ever, I'm so sorry.
