Ask MDL And Now For Something Different: Food After inheriting the majority share of her late-father's failing restaurant, kindergarten teacher Kiu Fa Chi takes on the harrowing challenge of managing it with her father's legitimate family, but only to realize their goals are unaligned. As part owner of the restaurant, Fa Chi's half-brother Kong Seung Yau wants nothing more than to shed the pressure of being Chef Kong's son from him. Immature and rebellious, Seung Yau has no desire to carry on his father's legacy. But is freedom what he seeks, or is the fear of not living up to his father's name what truly scares him? To complicate this venture, the secret of Fa Chi's parentage hangs over her like a ticking time bomb, threatening to expose when Seung Yau takes fancy to her. As the two apprentices of the "Chef King", Ma Yau and Long Chi Sun are known for their supreme talents with limitless futures. Although equally skilled, their personalities are opposite as Chi Sun's competitive drive always had him envious of his senior brother's natural gifts. His wish for a fair competition is dashed when Ma Yau suddenly disappears and he's left with regret of the unknown. As Chi Sun's career soars to fame, he sets his eyes on his heart's desire, a waitress So Mei who has yet to return his feelings as she struggles to move on from a heartbreak that has scarred her both mentally and emotionally. Meanwhile, Ma Yau, who's been running from his own problems, is suddenly sought out by Fa Chi, his old acquaintance's daughter for help. Despite his resistance, he eventually concedes to join her staff as head chef to repay his late-benefactor for his childhood favor. Their initial partnership starts off shaky as his attitude and rigid ways create additional challenges for her, but she would discover a softer side of him after witnessing his kindness in helping Candy, a young heiress who has suddenly fallen upon hard times in pursuit of her music dreams. Fa Chi learns Ma Yau's cold demeanor and dark outlook on life was entirely shaped by his bitter childhood, and a painful breakup he has yet to pull himself out from. They eventually grow to appreciate each other's strengths working together to return "Hundred Mile Seafood Restaurant" back to its former glory, and in the process, help each other heal the emotional wounds holding them back. Yet, just as love begins to blossom between the two, Ma Yau's past returns, entangling them all in a complicated web of love. (Source: NightOwl at kisskh) Edit Translation
