What a "time bomb" for Chinese Entertainment Industry
The fact it came out in 2016, filmed in 2015 and probably planned for a few years prior! This was filmed and partially aired in the communist state where anything sex, and even more gay is an untouchable taboo. I did not come across to this masterpiece until 2023. Everything about this project is perfect: statement, chemistry, production, acting! Very young and prominent models at that time participated in this is mind blowing. They were prosecuted and banned from being in the same space for 8 years in and out of China. Does it add spice to the project, yes it does. It created a very special fandom for the leads, and to be honest I am one of them. And it obviously paved the way to others to defy the laws and express true feelings. For production: director and producers must have invested so much, including their own safety making this. The feel of small school in big city is so real with all its strictness,, uniforms and tense hormonal teens. small details of suburban China households, fire stoves, worn-out bicycles, wall paper, street food.
Acting is as expected, but the tension and chemistry are overpowering. Dialogues like: "you are crazy, go take some medicine!---but you are my medicine" or "Why are you eating my food?---It makes me happy" just precious but do not come across cheesy and are lost in actions and story. But they leave a very sweet aftertaste of wanting to be connected to someone on that level.
OST: all I can say, please make sure you are watching the extended version, because the surrender scene with "I am giving in" is just magnificent.
Highly recommend for anyone who needs some dopamine healing in their life.

Let me start by saying that I wished they had continued the series, in that way all the plots of the characters are fully explored. But just judging from all the scenes that I've watched, I can say that, this is a really nice beautiful BL. I understand that there are scenes that people might find uncomfortable, it might be seen as direct bullying and that's really understandable. But I think, if you give the character the chance to explain why they're doing those things and why they're acting like that, you'll see that it's really about personalities. We're all different. And each of us came from different sets of experiences that defines our actions and ways of thinking in life. In Gu Hai's defense, his initial aggressive behavior marked with constant teasing towards Bai Luo Yin is softened up later on in the story, as the scenes progressed and revealed that it's actually his way of expressing how he truly feels. Probably if they continue the story, then they can fully give Gu Hai all the scenes he needs to fully communicate what he truly felt. Addicted Heroin is a wonderful BL, with heart touching sound tracks. There are scenes that are really funny, and there's also scenes that are touching. Both characters are living in complicated situations where both their families and their personal feelings for each others are clashing and forcing them to take a stand and make a choice. I have to appreciate the story writer, script writer and the director for making every scene so realistic and to the point. There is no scene in the series where i thought, this series can be better without this scene. I loved it

This series feel like a 13yo Fujo's wattpad story w weird ass fantasies/fetishes
This series is genuinely weird...I don't understand how ppl are enjoying this???? The whole show is just uncomfortable to watch (heavy on the love interest and his actions, cause nothing will and can save him from what he's doing). This especially gets worse in episode 11. I do not understand why it was even necessary to include that in the story??? The rating would've gone up by 2 stars atleast if that episode doesn't exist. It's just weird...I had to edit this review again to say it's pain Sexual assault and I'm not even joking. The love intrest is just forcing the MC into everything, it's irritating

I'm sad there won't be a continuation of this show. The main characters interactions were so fluffy and well played. It makes the series worth watching. Their constant bickering and flirting is what kept me laughing and smiling. Just--they are so cute.
Overall, the plot line was good, though a few parts were cliched. However, I'm sure most people aren't watching this for plot--more so for cute Asian guys and the fluff. Make sure you watch the uncut scenes if want steamy stuff.
If you're looking for a fun story, definitely check this out. I will re-watch this in the future.

HIStory 3: Make Our SOTUS Days Count
HIStory 3: Make Our SOTUS Days Count🤣
EP 1: Erm, ok? maybe it's just the start? let's give this a chance 😅
EP 2: What's happening? CUTE stalking? cutting up clothes to fail to sew them? that abrupt ending?!?! huh?!?!
EP 3: Bai Luo Yin had a GF, the rest is just pranks. more CUTE Stalking... "I wanted to know how poor you really are"?!?! that director is a piece of 💩
EP 4: "You have to suffer if you want to cure me" Because drugging your schoolmate and messing with his health is pure love 😊😒 - Toxic Much? And the acting is kinda horrible, to be honest ...I'm so sorry to say this because these actors are fucking GORGEOUS 😍. I'mma break your leg if you don't apologize... erm... RED FLAG 🚨🚨🚨
EP 5: Now this was good... just normal stuff.. eating, hanging out, going on "dates"... and the music is actually good now, unlike EP1. and 2. and 3,4.
EP 6: Kinda maybe sorta better?! I guess... Why is Gu Hai flirting with Bai Luo Yin if he has a GF? TF?
EP 7: Mama and Papa trying to make things good? BLY knows that GH is rich.
EP 8: BLY gets injured and GH gets mad at YM for being fem?! huh? Also, GH keeps on groping BLY. WTF. GH's gesture for Auntie was kind.
EP 9: GH and LuLu, toxic much?!?! But on the other hand, GH talking about BLY... so touching. And BHQ got a new job. yaaaay... but that cut at the end of the episode... who TF edited this 🤣
EP 10: GH putting his hand on BLY's privates while sleeping...hmmm. And why is GH jealous of / mad at his girlfriend cheating on him while he is doing the same thing?!?! They found out that they were brothers and BLY can't accept that. I understand that there are SO MANY emotions there but, take a breath and talk it out. Don't rush things. (Maybe I would have done the same thing at his age? I don’t know )
EP 11 & 12: What's with the editing of when YQ came to visit BLY 🤨, KIDNAPPING?!?! Seriously.. and what with that dinner scene right after the attempted rape scene... wtf? As if everything is nice and jolly?!?! I don't get it. And BLY was told that he has an HBV(and STD) (spoiler he Doesn't ) that he doesn't want GH to contract but GH instead of respecting BLY's wishes/concern... has sex with him (in a rape-y kinda way...NO. Why did YQ yell at YM, like... all of a sudden? And is there gonna be a love triangle between GH, BLY, and YQ? Literally no relationship development between YQ-BLY-YM...NOOOONE. Cute moments here and there.
EP 13: OK, not bad... still no clue about YQ and YM but meh... Finally, a moment where GH said sorry to BLY after being a total dick and super jealous. BHQ❤️ZXY. YESSSSS
EP 14: GH's cousin is a dick... Cudos to BLY for keeping his composure. Mother, please don't enter somebody else's house without their permission. Just wait outside. Thank you.
EP 15: Cute Christmas, That almost-sex-scene ,,, haba-haba 😏... and the return of the BLY's ex gf... and we're left hanging
The editing (abruption of an episode all of a sudden and some scene cuts that don't make sense.) wasn't my favorite
The soundtrack... I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER IT. And I'm a sucker for OSTs.
Why are Yang Meng and You Qi on the poster too? they barely had any interaction with each other... so man loose ends... I thought they were gonna be a couple too, but nope
I don't care if it's China or 2016 or whatever... this drama isn't good... I don't understand the cult following, to be honest.
4/10

LOVELOVELOVELOVE
Okay so...Once upon a time, I was bored and in need of a good and spicy BL to entertain me. Then I fell upon a post about Addicted. After reading about how obsessed the watchers were and how it was banned in China, I knew I had hit jackpot.
When I first started watching, I was a little bit confused about how it would turn out. I switched from confused to anxious to just being on the edge of my seat. It's a REALLY GOOD love story, while also unconventional. Also, just a recommendation, make sure you watch the uncut version of certain episodes ;) You can thank me later.
If you wanna fangirl, here is an opportunity. I can genuinely say I squealed at certain moments. The BOLDNESS is ASTRONOMICAL.
If you aren't into the spicy stuff, you can still enjoy this drama because it is so heartfelt. The love isn't rushed but doesn't take too long at the same time. The was not cliché, unlike most other dramas. The main couple has a lot of realistic obstacles in their way that they overcome together. My only problem with it is that it ends so abruptly, probably because it was banned for the LGBTQ+ themes.

You fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other
I've re-watched it again after years since the BL with the secondary couple is out and I wanted to remember why I was so disappointed at the time we didn't get much of them. Instead, I was like "oh, yeah, that's why I loved Addicted so much at the time". There are a lot of problematic stuff that my younger self didn't pay as much attention to as I do now, and probably without the nostalgia glasses I wouldn't like it as much? I don't know. What I do know is that the chemistry between the main pairing is unreal. The way their relationship is built-in screen is subtle and has a really nice pace, the conflicts make sense and there is no unnecessary drama, I was surprised that they didn't fight about Gu Hai lying about being rich, since it seems like the kind of plot we see a lot, but Yin is not dumb, he knew the other was lying because he is, again, not stupid. Also, maybe that's why this "enemies to lovers"/bullying plot works so well, because both give as good as they get, they're on the same headspace, is not something you watch and actually hopes one of them get away from an abusive relationship os something like that. They're teenagers, and they're dumb and stupid, but also, the way they start getting soft on each other, start taking care of the other is amazing. It's just lovely. It's really sad that we never saw it through because of censorship, but still, this will always be my favorite version of this story, and the OST? Oh, the OST.Was this review helpful to you?
