Seventeen-year-old Dong Ha is a high school student who is bullied at school and struggles with poor grades. At home, he feels just as alone; his mother doesn’t even realize he’s allergic to cucumbers when she offers him some. After repeatedly causing trouble, Dong Ha is ordered to complete community service. Meanwhile, 71-year-old Yeong Ae lives in a convalescent hospital, burdened by loneliness and hardship ever since her son, Jeong Hwan, left her. Though she pretends to have Alzheimer’s, her mind is still sharp. Many people believe her act, and life in the hospital becomes easier as a result. Still, she dreams of escaping. One day, she stops Dong Ha from jumping off a rooftop and ends up following him to the welfare center, where he is doing his community service. As she watches the lonely boy, whose life seems even more painful than her own, her hardened heart begins to soften. But everything changes when Jeong Hwan suddenly reappears, and a social worker, Ja Yeong, suggests that Yeong Ae receive proper treatment for Alzheimer’s.
